Challenging, but fun

User Rating: 9.2 | Full Spectrum Warrior PS2
I played Full Spectrum Warrior a while ago on the XBOX and thought it was awesome. Then recently I bought a PS2 and noticed the game was also on that console too. While the PS2 version is pretty much just like the XBOX version, the PS2's controls seem easier to get in to and there are some exclusive missions too.

There's a few different modes to play on FSW. The main campaign mode which features around 12 different missions, Training mode and multiplayer/online. Multiplayer can only be played by connecting 2 PS2's together.

There is some extra content like trailers, movies, etc that you unlock by completing the missions.

The reason I like this games is because of it unique controls and gameplay.
Simply put, it's a 3D RTS game. You control 2 teams of 4 (Alpha, Bravo) and have to complete different objectives. It's really handy with 2 teams as you can flank enemies and it gives you more firepower.

I also like that the game is challenging but not ridiculously hard. Some missions get quite tough and require a few attempts but I didn't find it frustrating.

The graphics on this game are pretty cool. Everything is shown clearly with some nice detailed textures. While playing this game I haven't noticed any slow down either which is good considering there's a lot going on at some points of the game.

The sounds add a lot to the game. The voice acting is well done for the cutscenes and also during the actual gameplay. Your team mates will often shout random things to the enemies while shooting them and also come out with sarcastic comments. It's pretty and doesn't really get annoying.

Replayability. I haven't completed the game yet so I haven't really thought of playing through it again although I might try it again on the hardest setting. It has online play so that'll keep people playing longer.

Overall it's a very cool game. If you like squad based tactical shooters then you'll love this.
