This game is still one of the best dog fighting games to date. It is an instant classic, I've grown up playing the entire Descent series by Interplay and this one is probably the best out of all of them. I still will play this game over newer titles because it is just so good. It is crazy how these old titles and non-existent publishers were basically the best at creating these instant classic titles. I could have easily rated this 10/10, but compared to its previous title, Freespace The Great War (Freespace 1) the ambience/soundtrack is quite repetitive at times, and I personally enjoyed Freespace 1's soundtrack better in a whole, plus voice overs seemed to have better variety in the first Freespace, but none the less an easy 9.5 out of 10, anything less would be a disgrace of how compact this game was, especially gameplay wise. I really hope that in the future, if Interplay ever returns to continue the Descent series. This game series represent my gaming youth, and it would be extraordinary if they can expand this series in the near future as a modern gaming title, possibly on console as well, for the future generation to play that never got to play these great titles that we were fortunate with, well to me anyways these classic games were the best and still the best!
