I am having a nightmare with my controllers

about 2 weeks ago my controller just randomly started disconnecting every 30seconds or so, it then connects again all on its own, works for around another 30 seconds and then disconnects again.

this obviously means playing games is pretty much impossible.

xbox support told me controller was faulty so I went and bought a new controller but having the exact same problem, they are now just telling me to keep it wired in using a play and charge cable at all times, but this is obviously a pretty unacceptable solution for a supposedly wireless controller.

anybody had this issue or got a fix?

oh and its not being caused by interference either, console has been in exactly same place for about 3 years and never had this problem until now.

If you've tried different controllers, then it's likely the console. Since it sounds like you are out of warranty, you'll have to send it in repair (which will co$t you) or buy a new one. Sorry but there's not much else you can do.

@NoDzombie: Had the same problem. Had to keep using the wire. I'm done with this console and future iterations of it. The OG xbox was the only true solid build, these others are just shit.

I noticed the issue when I switched rooms closer to my modem/router. I had no problems when my Xbox was in my bedroom, but it became a problem when I switched to the living room. Between my cell phone, router, and desktop, I' was thinking it was an interference issue. I believe this more so because my wireless headset (runs on different frequency) has zero disconnects.

The only time I've had it disconnecting was when the battery was dying. Thinking it was my cheap Indie game on Steam, it was just the batteries dying.

I had the same problem but it was always with wired controllers. I found them to be all pretty unreliable.
