Which game has better graphics, CoD4 or Halo 3?

Fandom aside, both are great in their own respect. Am I trying to take the easy way out? No. Because I explain why:

Halo 3 is not trying to be photo realistic. CoD4 is. So does this mean that Halo 3 is uglier? I don't think so. It is called stylised. Also, if Halo wanted to become more photo-realistic, they would further destroy any coherence between Halo/Halo 2.

I have both and I am enjoying CoD4 Multi-player on LIVE very much (though, I am not very good at it).

Halo 3 looks like Halo 2.5. COD4 looks like...aw good it's so beautiful!

everyone thinks that cod4 has better graphics... now i will agree they are very impressive but i think halo3 tops it... i mean have you seen his faceguard? u can see your reflection... i have played cod4 over at my friend's house and moast of the time we played multiplayer (and i kicked the snot out of him) and i also was not impressed... if you shoot somone like 3 times with a smg thenthe other guy dieswhat the heck are you supposed to do with the rest of the 57 bullets in your mag??? ok i will say this:

Everyone dissing Halo 3 has no idea what bungie was doing with its engine. COD4 and many other games are great but you can't deny Halo of it's accomplishments also. Lets see:

4-player co-op: check

15 plus km levels where everthing you see is being rendered even those HUGE ******* ships flying around: check

Superb lighting: check

water physics that arent just flat shader textures but fully 3d water effects: check

Amazing textures on nearly every part of the game: check

running software to record every headshot,melee,sticky,etc. etc. and recording every millisecond of the any game you play: check

Using Dual Frame buffer which is amazing. Many of misinformed people bashedHalo 3 the moment it was discovered it was running in 640p. But what many of you didnt know was that it was becuase bungie use not ONE(like COD4), but two frames that runs double thana single frame.Bungie actually pointed out that the Dual-Frame Buffer 640p offers performance similar to a Single-Frame 1280p resolution. This was discovered by the same guy who first announced the 640p to everyone but everyone didn't listen to the whole reason. Heres a link if you want to know more about this: LINK

i can go on and on. Before you bash Halo 3 because of it's art ****not looking like EVERY game that is like now GREY BROWN BLACK dont think it's not impressive. O yea did i mention bungie wasn't eventrying to make Halo the most graphical game.

You should see Mass Effect facial models, they are much better than COD4

Well I have seen the Mass Effect facial models seeing as I own it, lol. Yes, Mass Effect has wonderful facial models but that one little scene in COD was just amazing.

They both have diff graphic styles so you cant compare them. flowernuts

Style, yes but the quality of COD4's graphics is much much higher then that of Halo 3. In all honesty Bungie isnt some triple A developer, Halo was a hit because it did everything that other FPS did and it worked on a console, Halo 2 added online and was simply a well done shooter. Halo 3 is more of the same, everything is done well and it's great but it's nothing special. COD4 was something different, and you might not like the graphic style (like me) but it's definatly better then Halo3 when it comes to graphics.

that is why CoD4 is better... ok, look at it this way, just take a look at the cutscenes, the human models looks almost exactly alike as the xbox' halo 2 counter part, i'm not saying that halo 3's graphics sucks but CoD4's definitely better.

By far Cod 4. But its not like Halo 3 is crap, But just looking at the graphics Cod4 is way better. I think one of the main reasons that halo 3 fails is becasue its environment changes very little throughout the game, whereas CoD4 has mutliple examples... just my opinion.

Yep, both games have their own strengths and weaknesses. Halo 3 has its great textures and lighting, while cod4 has its 60frames per second blur effect's. Both games have different art styles aswell.

call of duty 4 i woulld say

I always wonder how light brighter then the Sun shining off of every object constitutes as "Good lighting". You don't go to a movie and say "Wow! Did you see that guys glass armor shine when all the light started pouring in!?" "No dude, I couldn't see anything at all during that scene!" "Awesome!".

Some of Halo 3's environments are truley remarkable, but the fact that you can't explore more then 5% of each one kinda ruins it. The models are pretty bad, which I guess alot of people can't tell because of the sun shining off them. The water is pretty nice, I almost enjoyed it as much as Bioshock. Anyway, Call of Duty for sure. "Photo Realistic" or not, the overal appearence is off the charts. The levels are perfect, to the point of astonishment. Every model in the game is perfect, the vehicles and scenery are extremely detailed. The gunfire and the guns themselves are easily the new peak in shooters (Gunfire for sure, I havn't seen all the guns in Crysis). I dunno guys, it's not really much of a contest.

Are you guys kidding ? I throw up in my mouth a little bit everytime I'm up close to a wall in CoD4. Some of the textures are just horrible. In the right light, from the right angle.....CoD4 can look pretty good but Halo 3 is much more polished, the first level drops my jaw every time. I can't see any noticeable difference between CoD2 and CoD4.ZanyIce

I think there is alot more technology used in Halo 3, but CoD4 takes its engine and polished the snot out of it, making it look better with using less.

IMO CoD4 is much better graphics.

Halo 3 has horrible graphics. The only 360 game it is comparable to is Perfect Dark....
