Just wondering because I wanna know about what a good Gamerscore is and how many achievements are considered good. Some of the achievements I've seen look pretty hard if not impossible (Streets of Rage 2 800,000 points on Hardcore..yeah I got 80,000..I got game over on the second boss).

It's all relative. I consider my 22k pretty good, considering the games I have, but people with only...3 or so games don't really have the potential to get that much Gamerscore. It all really matters on if you think it's enough, but then again, it's just a meaningless statistic at this point, so who cares?

I have about 600 but I've only played Kung Fu Panda, Soul Calibur 4 and a few arcade games so far.

I am not so sure you should be looking at gamerscore. Any person can get an easy 10,000 by playing ten really easy games. You will have a respected gamerscore if you can get some of the harder achievements out there.

Gamerscore doesnt really matter. It just gives you more to strive for once youve completed a games story mode. I have 25, 000. Not a big deal or anything. :D

Well, if you're completely new a couple thousand is fine. Gamerscore is a completely pointless number anyway except for bragging rights with friends. 10,000 seems to be a good number that separates a lot of people and seems "respectable" in my opinion. That is, unless you played Avatar, because if you do there is no chance of ever being respectable.

DarkRikuShadow

Errrrg so close, have like 4900.. must keep going ...must increase my e-peen. Good thing I don't care too much about that, if I did I have stack a of games I could finish. Achievements only give me motivation if I like the game enough to keep playing, and they add replay value without being annoying to get.

If I look through my recent people I played with and am comparing games with a bunch of them, I don't compare unless it's over 10,000. But if I'm looking at gamercards on teh interwebz I look at completion percentage.

Just over 5.5k here.. and I think that's pretty respectable. I don't really have the time I would like to have when it comes to playing games so I don't always get a lot of achievements, and besides, it's a meaningless statistic it doesn't actually do anything.

A good Gamerscore is really one that gamers themselves are proud of and satisfied with, seeing as how the system is designed to represent the individual accomplishments of a gamer. Comparing and "competing", if you will, with other gamers in regards to Gamerscore isn't bad, but it should not become a gamer's primary incentive to increase their Gamerscore; that's just stupid, because a person's Gamerscore could be lower or higher than another's due to a variety of factors, ranging from how long they've had their Xbox to how much time they spend with their games/trying to get Achievements and Gamerscore. Take mine, for example. Personally, I am satisfied with mine, even though it would be much higher if I played my games as much as I'd like to. Overall, it's not a huge bother for me, but I do pay attention to it.

It depends how long you have had a 360 but for people that got it around launch I would say about 50k. Unless they rarely play it even without trying they should be over 50k.

For the people that actually care about gamerscore, I'd say like 15,000+ maybe. If you don't care, then it doesn't matter. For me, I don't care one bit. :P

In my opinion, any score is a decent score - the main objective is to have fun... not to rack up achievement points.

It depends how long you have had your 360 for and weither or not you TRY to get achievments or if you just game and let the points come as they do, without looking at what the achivements are before.

i would say that depends on how many games uve played. if u have 100 played games and a 10k gamerscore. thats uber lame. ill say a decent gamerscore should be at least 50% of the total points of all ur played games.. like if u have 10 played games. a decent gamerscore should be 5000g

Just as others have said the score is relative, how longs the person been playing? what type of games they play? and so on. Ultimately I wouldnt worry too much about your score, there will always be someone who has more time to play and money to buy games and so a higher score. Just enjoy the games you play :)

I'm sure everyone thinks differently when it comes to having decent gamerscore, so really it's all just in your opinion what a decent gamerscore would be.

Gamerscore just shows how much time you devote togames. Above 25,000 or so and you're closing in on agoraphobia.

It was a slight exaggeration, but the premise is right. If your gamerscore is getting that high, you probably play a little too much(in my opinion, of course).

I dont think 'half' the people on this site have gamerscores of 25,000 or more. And if they do, and they're offended then oh well. I'm not going to take back what I honestly think.

And saying 'in my opinion' is only my way of covering in-case somebody wanted to get into a war of what is or isn't too long. Too many people assume that without those words, you are trying to impose 'truths' on them or something. Basically, I'm trying to save time of going through the pointless parts of an argument.

But please, explain to me whats ignorant about my comments. You keep saying it, but you've done absolutely nothing to show it.

Gamer-score is in no way a measure of some ones gaming ability. Just how much spare time they have. Some games give out G's like candy, others come few and far between. Some games are as easy as taking a piss, other more like taking a piss through your neck (very hard indeed) Generally (And I know it's a bit of a prejudice as you could of had your xbox for years) I tend to think anyone who goes over around 7-8 thousand has just a little bit too much time on their hands.

on a gaming forum, you called all people with over 25,000 gamerscore 'agoraphobic,' what isnt ignorant about that? first of all your saying this ON A GAMING FORUM. Secondly your generalising a large population based on an irrelevant number. Thirdly, your not taking into considertion how long they have actually had their console. Fourth; 25,000 gamerscore is not a lot considering over 150,000 people have reached that milestone. Finally; you decided to label those 150,000+ persons as agoraphobic, having absolutely no clue who they are. show enough ignorance for you?

I have about 14,000 and have had a 360 for just under 3 years.

But that's actually very low it would seem for the time.

I guess I tend to not really go for achievements that much. Seems some aim for the full thousand on every game they buy.

Or maybe they have had the XBox since launch date or near launch date? What about us players who strive to get 1000/1000 on each game? A game doesn't feel complete unless it's 1000/1000.

Ok, well I've already addressed the fact that my 'agoraphobic' comment was a purposeful exaggeration. You will continue to use it, I know, because its your best(and only) weapon, but do try and get on with the conversation instead of dwelling on already explained comments, will ya?

Anyways, it doesn't matter that 150,000 people have reached that same 'milestone', because itsquite likelythat there's at least 150,000 people out there who play video games a littletoo much, wouldn't you say?

And how is the fact that this is a gaming forum any kind of evidence of ignorance? Thats a strange one.

I see you have SIXTY EIGHT games with a completion percentage of 72%. I dont think the Xbox360 has been out long enough to make that kind of statistic reasonable. Sounds like you play video games a little too much, if you ask me.

I mean, I think that I play games too much as it is. Not that my gamerscore reflects it(since I dont go for acheivements), but I do put in quite a bit of playing, and I certainly wouldn't ever come close to your guy's score even if I did go for acheivements.

Looks like you "took back what you honestly thought".:P That was an interesting struggle to watch but in the end they made you surrender. You should know by now your opinion < gamespot users who will argue until you cave in.

I didn't 'take back' anything. I still stand by my position that gamers with scores over 25,000 probably play games a little too much.

All I'm conceding is that its probably a bit much to go and preach to people how they should be spending their time, which was never my intent, but which I was cornered into doing.

I only have 3 360 games so far: Soul Calibur IV, Kung Fu Panda (came with it so I played it a bit; it's not bad) and Assassin's Creed and I haven't played Assassin's Creed yet. A lot of the games I wanna play are regular XBox games and they don't give achievements.
