Honestly, gamerscores are not that big of  a deal, but from the amount of registered users and the leaderboards, I would say 1000 is about average.

I think it depends on what games you've played. NBA 2K6 and Madden are by far the easiest games to get your gamerscore up.

I think they gamerscore feature on the 360 gives games so much more replay value. It gives you something to shoot for after you beat there story of a game. There have always been high scores and stuff like that, but now you have reason to get those high scores. I think Sony and Nintendo would be stupid to not do something like this.

It depends how many games you have.  I only have 3 games(counting Geometry Wars).  And I have a gamerscore just over 1000.  A lot of my friends have much higher scores, but they have like 4-6 games.

very true but some people also buy games that have really really achievements where you get points for beating different levels (King Kong and GUN) and some of the sports games

It doesn't really matter. The gamer could have Condemned, King Kong, and a bunch of sports games, then his score would be over 2,000 with ease. If he had Perfect Dark Zero/Kameo/Call of Duty 2, it would take longer to develope a gamer score.

For the average gamer, 6-10 hours a week I would say 500-1000 like myself (I got 820), for the more hardcore 10-20 hours a week 1000-2000 points.

It all depends, I've had my 360 since launch and I have 6 games but my GS is ~2500 because I don't have much time to play.

Gamerscores don't reflect the person's gaming skill. Most of the top 10 ranked players on PGR3 have GamerScores of 600-1000.

My Gamerscore is 2310. I think it's a great idea...gives games more replay value and also makes me more willing to check out games I might not otherwise decide to play.

The AVERAGE gamescore is probably lower than you think, because not everyone takes it serious. I'd guess it's around 1000 to 3000 or something like that.

what does it matter the higher ur gamerscore the less of a life u have. guitarplayer6

If playing games, no matter what the goal, equals death (or no life) then you should beware the legion of undead that are roaming this earth, hungry for the fresh "life" of yours that can be consumed...

This question depends on many things, so there really is no real answer. Gamer score = nerd cred and nothing more.

well my gamerscore is around 1035 its because i have alot of college corses so i really dun't get to play much lol. but maybe i'll try to ge tup to 2000. iono depends. but people who have like gamerscore over 10,000 really dun't have no life at all. i mean with all the time spent u can have a blast in the real life. lol but o well that's not me.

I don't know what people mean by "don't have a life." My gamerscore is over 22,000. I only play about 1-2 hours/day, maybe 3 on weekends. Do you consider this having no life?
