My launch console died over a month ago. I went out and bought a core with a warranty, partly because I didn't want to be bored. Well, that new core also has some issues. It seems that it doesn't draw enough power as it shuts off on its own and the games run poorly. Just got my refurb back a couple of weeks ago and it seems ok so far. I guess you can say I'm on my third. I'm trying to figure out if this refurb has the same guts as the older ones or if its one of the improved models. Waiting to hear from a rep now.
I'm going to be on my third soon. My first broke within a week back in January 2006. I had my second one for a year and a couple months until it broke last month. Microsoft's taking it's sweet time in getting a new one out to me, as I sent the second one in over a month ago.
