Im really just creating this thread to combat all the negative ones about 360's hardware. I canaccept that there is a problem i just want to prove that there are actually some people who have360's that have never given them a problem. also if you guys wouldnt mind holding off playing your 360 for another second to write down whether you actually own the hd-dvd attachment as im sick of those darn price comparison threads which always include it.
Wow really? i figured most people whogot one that early had problems and that there had been minor changes to the consoles purchased in 06.Oh and i have now added a poll just figured it would be a better way to see how many people are still on their first rather than reading through posts.
I've had mine for about 14 months with no problems. Of course, I've binge-played WoW during a lot of that time so my 360 was left collecting dust for weeks at a time. :P
im on my second 360 but i've noticed that my second one works alot better than the first one so id say that microsoft is really improving their consoles now.
still on first! no problems! but this is the plan.. i get a new one from club.live.com then i have 2.. then i sell the new one.. get an Elite.. then give my old one to my oldest bro whos in college xD

Still on the first 360. That makes 7 months and it's still pumping the iron. Burn those calories 360. Live, Breath, and NEVER DIE. Not necesarrily. Mine just broke on me yesterday (bought it Nov '06). Gave it lots of room to breath (no enclosed spaces). Turned it off when I wasn't in front of it actually playing. I work in IT so I know the dangers of not treating hardware properly, but, like I said, it just went belly up on me anyways.:(
edit: I don't doubt that some people have their systems go down due to their own incompetence, just saying it doesn't account for all the defects.
I'm actually on my 3rd 360. I got my first one about 2 weeks after launch and it died about 11 months later, my next one lasted about 9 months, hopefully this one lasts...
I'm on my second as of Monday, my 1st lasted about 8 months. I also don't have the hd-dvd attachment and don't plan on getting it either.
I also had mine in a location with plenty of open space on the top of my entertainment center sitting on an aluminum laptop cooling pad. I only played it for 2-3 hrs every couple of days.
Just wondering for those of you that selected yes but having problems what are the problems your having justwondering if theres a main problem people are having e.g freezing, overheatingetc
Currently on my second...first one RRoD'd after 10 months. The second is starting to make odd drive/fan noises, so I'm bettingthat I'll be on my thirdbefore long.

I initially had a couple freezes here and there. Then didn't see it for about a week then it started happening again, then again, and again. I could play FIFA all i wanted it was fine, but Gears, GRAW and a few other started to lock up. Eventually it hit the point FIFA and the menu screen locked. The process from it starting to dying was about a month.

Yeah the same thing happend to my friends 360 kept on freezing druing games and if you waited long enough on the dashboard. I figured it was something to do with the cable since he was using a vga cable so we switched it for the composite and as soon as we turned it on using the composite we got theRing of death , he sent it off and when it got back it broke straight out the box. He got his new one today and its working fine.... so far. But atleast if it goes again we have the 3 year warranty extension.
I've had mine since March without any problems. I feel good about MS's warranty extension just in case mine does die. Any way, I love the xbox360 it a good machine with cool features besides games.
