Exactly.
If anything, Halo is the same old stuff. Call of Duty 4 looks fantastic, simply amazing, best looking console game to date. And I liked the stealth mission they showed.

Halo needs to be the same stuff it just wouldnt work out if they changed the gameplay around completely, they add new things but minor things that change the gameplay a lil bit but not much such as the dual wielding and the ability board tanks and warthogs and such...

no one said Halo 3 sucks or anything, just that seeing CoD series going from their WW style to ' Modern Warfare ' ...i rather experience something new with the franchise than know that i'll be playing pretty much the same thing with Halo 3. Some people like repetition, i on the other hand like to try out something new.
Both are probably going to be more of the same, but I'll take Halo 3's more of the same. I loved the first Call of Duty, but I've grown a little more bored with each one. My fear for CoD4 is that it will be more of the same safe, whitewashed combat with modern equipment. The frenetic action you get into occasionally in the WW2games is awesome, but I always wished they could capture that horrific part of combat the way Saving Private Ryan did.
The level chosen for CoD4 definitely could have been better. It looked like an aggravating, overly handholding tutorial mission, and that squawk they used every time the other guy talked was annoying.

I think its going to break down like this. Older gamers (ME) will go for something like COD4, thats darker and serious.
10 year old squeaky american kids that sound like little girls will go for halo 3 LOL!!!
I am v surprised that COD4 is standing its ground.
I thought far too many "sheep" worship at the temple of Halo

that's what I was thinking lolI was thinking about the similarities between halo 2 and 3 while watching e3 last night. granted, given the genreand storyline the 3rd installment could only be so different. it seems that cod is more of a simulation while halo is a fantasy, and halo has more of a set storyline while cod simply pits you in realtime historical battles making it more of a realistic fantasy. sort of a heartbreaker cod4 won't feature a real battle though real settings, nevertheless I would have to go with cod4.
Keep in mind i'm not even close to knocking halo 3.
