Every single person in my school is buying MW2 so we are all going together and loading up 5 school buses for the midnight release. hahahaha Id be willing to bet 25 bucks this is totally made up. no way would any school district allow something like this to happen - the principal does not have the sole power to close school and for a reason like MW2, well, it just wouldnt fly.

Not a holiday, but I am going to Marching Band Nationals starting tomorrow and wont be back till Nov 10 at like 5am. Me and my friends and going to go home and sleep till about 9am and then drive up and pick it up. It's almost like a holiday we get out the 10 and 11 and it's excused.

Seeing as the President of the College I'm attending has probably never even heard of an Xbox 360 or PS3, No, I have school that day. I DO Have off on Veterans day though (Nov. 11th).
In Canada the 11th is rememberance day (canadian version of independence day) which means we get the day off. After paying tribute to our soldiers I will be playing all day.

wow im sorry but you need a history lesson in the worst possible way. First ill start by saying im Canadian and you have no clue what you are talking about. Remembrance Day is to honour the men/women lost during WWI (primarily) which you are right about, but comparing it to independence day, really? Americans call it Veterans Day, Independence Day is completly different. Thats the day where they celebrate the adoption of the decleration of independence in 1776, so wow are you ever off. The Canadian version of Independence Day is well obvious Canada Day lol.
And to the original poster as everyone said your full of BS, no principle has the authority to make a holiday any day he/she wishes, it would be stupid and he would be fired if it were to happen, especially for this reason.
That Principal would be canned off the bat, the Principal has no real power. He's like a jail warden, a Jail warden just doesn't let who he wants out of jail, even if it's off of good behavior the warden still has to appeal. In this case the principal would have to appeal to the school board, and they wouldn't have that. Either way, a back up principal or some kind of administator would have to step up. The principal can't close a school unless 1. In Danger 2. Technical problems at the school, or 3. Well, heat problems when it gets to hot in the summer or spring, and yet they still have to appeal to the board.
So i guess most people here have crappy principals and janitors. Also one more thing: I am not sure if i should wear a tux to the midnight launch? will I be overdressed (the janitor said it's fine)?
