well...it has to be master chief... halo made the first xbox popular... if it wasnt for halo, i doubt the xbox brand would be as large as it is today...
Marcus Fenix....in a few years Chief will be long gone. Thi is the last console FPS Bungie is makin based on Halo. Fenix has a bright and long road to go that will likely stem onto another system. Halo as a franchise is winding down....Halo Wars looks meh at best.
Im going to side with Marcus. At this point i'd rather player GoW2 than Halo 3. I'm probably a little bit biased though because I've always thought Halo games have been overated.
There's no denying the appeal of Marcus, but since it was Master Chief and Halo that started it all, and really helped the Xbox get it's legs, this is a no-brainer in favor of good ol' MC.
And can we have at least one topic where we don't start talking about which game is better or what game is overrated. We're talking mascots here!
Am I the only one thinking gears of war doesn't compare to halo? Gears had a far too short single player and the multiplayer was totally messed up compared to halos. Halo does everything better. On top of that there's no needless gore and swearing, it's just that halo has got far more style than gears. Gears is the drunk on steroids where halo is the mysterious suited dude.

Gears Of War DEFINITELY does not compare to Halo. I like Gears Of War, but the SP is too short and the MP is extremely overrated and, really, broken.

Why do we have to choose only one? Secondly, we don't know if Bungie will even be able to continue a story past Halo 3. Gears of War is a confirmed trilogy plan (IIRC, much like Too Human), and does a lot of things that Halo does not.

I think it's that lack of emotion/character that seems to turn many of the Xbox haters off.

Microsoft doesnt want somebody who curses like a sailor to be the face of their system. :) If they want anyone from Gears it should be the COLE TRAIN.
Marcus is a newbie, Master Chief has been with the xbox since the first console was picked up from the shelves, really.. I like xbox but what would it be without Halo and Master Chief, he's been with us right from the beginning!!

You may be correct, but you may be wrong. Bungie said this is the end of this story arch. Who knows? There could be another story arch developed. On the business side, I can't see there not being another Halo FPS. Say what you want, but they are too good and too profitable. Plus Halo Wars will be great, plus the movie (at some point), plus Peter Jackson's new project (whatever that may be). It seems to em like MS is gettign ready for Halo to be the new Mario.

Bungie could make another marathon game and put "FROM THE MAKERS OF HALO" right on the cover in big, bright green letters. Same thing. Or they could do what was in the OXM rumor mill, make a Halo multiplayer-only game.
As much as I like Marcus, Master Chief has just been around a lot longer so therefore is more widely known. I like to think both of them represent the Xbox
