Yes...the single player experience on the 360 is very good, with an assortment of games to choose from, I myself tend not to play very much MP games (EXCEPT FOR COD 4, THAT IS ALL LOL) and I still have fun.;)

Probably people who dont play games online.

I have both consoles and prefer my 360 and Live, PSNdoes notprovide the sameuser friendlyfeatures that I have come to love.

While I do have xbox live, I spend 95% of my time on single player games. There's lots of great ones out there if you haven't been paying attention; Mass Effect, Fallout 3, Fable 2, Oblivion, Ninja Gaiden 2, just to name a few.

the only games am interested in is fallout 3 but want to wait for it become a greatest hist before i buy it

and i want to check out alan wake since its looking to become a graphics king

but other than alan wake am not much of a fan for xbox exclusives (wasa fan of halo 2 but hated 3) and did not like gears 1 or 2

Xbox live is what keeps me interested in my Xbox 360, without the live you lose about half the content of some games (e.g. Halo 3/Cod).

To be honest, i was expecting to be on XBL endlessly when i first got my 360 and my gold subscription but heh, i'm NEVER online i practically just play offline. So as the others pointed out 360 is great even without XBL.

I have all 3 consoles and an ok Pc gaming rig.

I also don't have x-box live, I play x-box exclusives on my x-box rarely buying cross-platform (Inclusing Pc) games for it. I do sometimes buy a month of live for games like GEOW etc etc. But I do, do most of my gaming on PS3.

The main reason I don't have live is the lack of Wi-fi as the tv I game on is Nowhere near the ethernet port so it just doesn't seem worth buying for me to use very rarely.

Why didn't you just say..."the online is more fun" ?...instead of the "funnier" ?

I'd say yes. I never play on Live. The only time I've had a gold account was during the inital month after making my tag or using up a free month card I got from a repair. The only time it bothers me to not have gold is when a new demo comes out and I have to wait a week or not being able to get multiplayer achievements.

I also have a PS3 and it almost never gets used aside from watching movies or the occasional exclusive like Valkyria Chronicles or Infamous. The X360 version of games are almost always superior, and I can install the entire game on the HD.

Akadian818

the way i look at it is the 50$ could go towards to another game if i look at the games i have now i would have to take one out if i would have ended up getting xbox live again

and yes xbox live is better than psn but i am satisfied with my online experience on psn

i have played some mulit-plat online games on both xbox live and psn and they both played great for me

the only times i had problem was nba 2k9 on psn any ranked match i play has major lag

one thing i do find weird is when i used to have xbox live i would have lag issues on big team matches with halo3 (32 players)

but never had issues with cod 4(on live) and to my surprise didn't have issues playing resistance 2 60 player matches

and i know 50$ a year is not much for some people but for others on a budget every penny counts especially when ur gaming on a budget lol

I have not renewed my Xbox live since I got a PS3 when Killzone 2 came out. I used to play COD4 and Halo 3 on it quite a bit. But don't really see the point in paying for it anymore. I may renew it for Left 4 Dead 2, but I probably won't. I'll get Modern warfare 2 on PS3 and play that online for free, don't see any other games I really want to play online all that much. What I want on 360 is single player stuff like Mass effect 2, Alan Wake.

No. Having an Xbox 360 without Xbox Live is like having ice-cream and jelly without the ice-cream. Xbox Live is the selling point for the Xbox 360.

There are tons of games that take advantage of the single player experience, i haven't got live and i've played games like Kameo, Condemned, Fable 2, RE5, Saints Row 2, etc so you dont need xbox live to have a good time.

I would say yes it is worth it to have an xbox without xbox live, because xbox live is probably the worst online communitty I have ever experienced. i gotta pay a monthly fee to access peer to peer online games, not even games that are supported by dedicated servers, and put up with the worst community the internet has around, a bunch of 12 year old racist hick kids that talk crap non stop. I have both xbox 360 and ps3 and I can say without a doubt that PSN is a much more satisfying MP experience. To quote another Xbox user- Buy a great game? Who cares you'll either get teamkilled, cursed at, kicked randomly, or the game will be ruined by hackers. This is a rarity from my experience on PSN, just seems like a more mature and friendly enironment.

If by more mature you mean being asked where you live by a complete stranger in a game of pool then sir I must not have gotten the memo on the changing of the definition of "mature". xD

But you're "entitled" to have your own opinion. So to that I say "Moo!" xD

Obviously there are exceptions, I have encountered my share of weirdo's and little kids that think they "pwn" on the ps3 but I am saying in general this is a true statement.

I play SP games mostly and the only multiplayer games I look for are local multiplayer (which is to say, very few :P ). Without Gold, I get a lot a milage out of my 360. And when I get the urge to play online I'll just play PC games.

i think so providing how much you pay for the console.

take it from me, i don't have x-box live. i havefive games to play but still have fun without being online. my arcade console i bought for $295NZ with one free game, sega superstars tennis which i have 90% completed since may. i do recommend that game too, its great fun. gamespot gave it a 7.0 if i am right.

if you haven't got an x-box already, look for a bargain. you can buy an arcade x-box cheap nowadays. you can always make up your mind later on as to whether you want x-box live but you will have to buy a hard drive to enable yourself to go online. thats what sales reps from different stores have been telling me around here anyway, maybe they're wrong. can you go online without a hard drive console?

later on i might go online with my console or icould wait until the x-box 720.

Yes, however online really makes the games worth it when you shell out $60.00 each.

yes its probably worth it seeing as of how there are so many great single player games for the 360 but the online multiplayer is also fun i prefer the online mutiplayer but its up to you.... its what you like best
