well,,i can't watch videoesand playing demoes because of my internet speed,so i just read previews and after the release date some bad and good reviews plus taking a look at screenshots, also i don't give a sh*t about game ratings and..that's it.

I go with my gut instinct and lots of gameplay vids unless it's a sports title - those I get regardless of gameplay vids.

whatever looks good basically.

For example-when I saw the game "Turning Point: Fall of Liberty" I thought it was just another WWII shooter. Then I read the plot and it said "in the 1950's in a world where the Nazis won WWII". At that moment, I knew I had to buy it.

Instinct or if a game peaks my interest. I'll make sure I know the game doesn't suck before I buy it though.

i usually look at have i played it before, and loved it (hit man as an example), the concept, look at one or two reviews if im still ify maybe a trailer...then last but not least look at the overall score of the game. usually im buying the game at step 2 (concept)

I just bought X360 so lots of games to choose from atm.

My decision about buying will be based on gamespot's users score.

Well I decide based on my bank account, which never has much in it :? I usually buy cheaper games and borrow the latest games from my gf :P Best of both worlds!

One thing I forgot to mention and I didn't see anyone else mentioning about this. When listing the cons, the game's length is maybe the biggest thing. Bad graphics, bad sounds, bad soundacting, few(and only few) bugs and all doesn't matter so much. If it's very short but otherwise a good game, I'll think twice before buying it. Although multiplayer game usually makes me to forgive the short length.

How about you?

yeah gears comes to mind. The multiplayer saved the whole game imo. campaign was a huge letdown for me, besides the gameplay.

All sorts of stuff comes into my consideration, otherwise you end up playing ones that are ONLY mainstream or a certain genre and if that happens then you dont get as much enjoyment if you are constantly playing one kind of game. I read and watch the reviews, check out the trailers, and what looks fun. Getting the demo or renting it can really help as well, I have decided what to get by playing them at someones house.

I'll check the reviews, videos, images, etc before even deciding if I'll like the game or not. If the game is from a franchise I loved, I won't bother. I'll just go out and buy it.
