We all heard it :- Horizontal is bad for heating !
Vertical scraches disks and brakes them !
So the Question is ................How do you put yours and for how long have you been useing this way ?

vertical, heat dispersion is great and i havent scratched a disc, i think the key is having it on a stable surface that wont rock every time u walk in the room
Horizontal since I bought it roughly a year ago

Isn't that the problem with having it vertical? AFter all vertical blocks the vents at the bottom which is the biggest inlet for air when standing vertical.
horizontal or vertical?
lol thats wat she sed
nah mines been horizontal for ages nvr thought of putin it verticle
Vertical- I have had it for over a year, My 360 has never broken and will without a doubt will not.:)
Its in a nice open space. It gets all the cooling it needs. I blow the dust off just in case. I play it for 3+ hours a day in the summer, too bad I can't play as much during school though.
had it horizontal since launch and worked great for about 2 years. now its vertical due to space constraints... but I prefer horizontal
i used horizontal since launch and once i got my 8th xbox back from repairs about 2 months ago i started using virticlekyletoker
to have gone through 8 you must be doing somehting wrong....i have had my vertical...on a stable surface and scratched 2 disks...then got rrod...used horizontal ever since and not a single problem
Horizontal, two and a half years. Did have a general hardware failure, but don't think it was due to over-heating.
More worried about it tipping over.
i have it both ways for an equal amount of time about 6 months each way and no problems either way
i dont think theres any significant proof of which is better for heating
