Gears Of War:

If your into third person view, very tactical shooters with a heavy strategy go for GoW. Plus the added bonus of having a ridiculously awesome story then this is the one your shooting for. It has been said that the graphics rival that of Halo 3 but I will have to disagree but they to come scary close.

Halo 3:

Probably the greatest run and gun shooter every created. If that is just what your into "Run N' Gun" and fast paced game-play pick Halo 3. The final chapter of the trilogy has a lot of great parts in the story but not compared to Gears. And finally Halo 3 has the greatest graphics ever presented on a console.

Call Of Duty 4

This one is the most addicting out of the three...I find. If you like the fast paced, modern-day warfare games then this is your fancy. The story actually feels like there was some hard-working time spent on it. evey single level you play you will be in awe. The graphics are awesome but I find that they could have been better.

its the same thing...and thats what i meant...it has an excellent story and and excellent campaign too.....please tell me if i misunderstood campaign.....is campaign the same as story mode...?...cos if it is, then i stand correct

Compairing these games is getting kinda old, and any game in fact. All you are going to get out of this is arguing points from different opinions which does no good. How about we quit compairing awesome games like these and actually use the forums for what they are supposed to be used for...help when we need it. Walkthrough help, secrets, glitches, etc...

1. Gears of War: If you ask me, it has the most satisfying headshots I've ever seen in a game.

2. Halo 3: Campaign was fun, but the multiplayer still holds up (even tho i have noticed sum gameplay balance issues, particularly the beat downs)

3. COD4: Just plain awesome

First: Gears of War

Second: CoD 4

Distant thrid: Halo 3

Multiplayer wise, CoD4 has the best out of the 3
Campaign wise, GOW wins

Gears - Great gameplay, decent story, awesome co-op.

COD4 - Great story and very intense gameplay.

H3 - Fun, but really nothing new.

Why do you have to do this enjoy the games, but then again none of em are perfect they all have their flaws. like take gears for examble theres alot of glichtin and the host advantage is bs short campaign nice coop. Cod4 feels like cod3 to me especially in the campaign A.I. does some of the same things from previous cod's and no coop. Halo3 would be the winner it has good campaign not too short but feels alot like halo2 if only it felt fresher.

For me the list is like this:

Gears of War: I knew this game was going to be a classic. I never was more excited for a game then Gears all the hype that surrounded it and the game never let me down. I still own it, and still play it. I never had that much fun with friends, from high school then from college! Co-op is just by far the best. Hand downs I think the game is on top.

Call of Duty 4: This game is just amazing. Like Gears I had that same feeling that this gmae was going to be good also. Played it & loved it. It gave it a RPG level up kind of twist to it along with extra guns and stuff you unlock the higher you unlock. The only problem with the game i think was the fact of the times I couldn't play with friend but other than that i was great. However it wasn't like the experience like gears thouh but it's up there.

Halo 3: When i first heard about the game I was excited in a way to finally see how it all ends. I wasn't really a big fan of halo I beat 1-2 and played 2 online and I was good however I wasn't that hooked with it. I expected something different with 3 though. I was right when Halo 3 came out that in deed it was better than the both however the story wasn't better than the first halo. The multiplayer changed a lot and for the better where it had that RPG level up feel like Call of Duty. It was good however in a way felt boring because it felt the same. If it wasn't for forge and theather the game would've been trash.

Overall this is my list above^^^. However for people that are voting you should realize that another reason why Gears is on top for me is because they are only on their first game. Halo series are finished. and Call of Duty is going to their 5th game. Gears of War was a debut no other game had done. Fun xbox live, first perfected Co-Op, all the violence and cool. Think about whats going to happen in the next 2. Think about it long and hard.

I'm more FPS than third person so thats why GoW fell to spot #3. I won't deny that it was a fun or good game.

I dont like HALO but dont worry I wont start bashing on it. I just think GOW is one of the finest gunning game out there...and you get to chop people down with a chainsaw....definitly worth it. Cant say anything about COD4 since I only played it for an hour or so, sounds like a good ride though

Hell No!, I hated Bioshock, good story but crappy ending and fairly crap gameplay
