NO NOT IN THAT WAY. :)

Yesterday I picked up ninja gaiden 2 USED from EB Games.

When I got home I realized that there was no disc inside the case they gave me. The guy just sealed a empty case with a EB games sticker.

When I took it back they never gave a disc or my money back because they thought I was Lying.

I just lost $49.99 +TAX.

Man that sucks. Odd thing is the same thing happened with me with NG2. But the guy that works at Gamestop knows me and he actually brought the game over to my house after he was done with work. I was pretty astonished by that.

Dude, I would call the police if I was you. That's a bunch of BS. Obviously the employee robbed you because as soon as you left the store, he probably slipped the disc in his pocket. If that doesn't work, complain to Gamestop Customer Service. (Yes, Gamestop is the parent company of EB games). I'll post the # below. If that also doesn't work, file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

If you have an issue with a store, please contact the GameStop.com Customer Service Center at (800) 883-8895

Oh and one more thing. Make sure to check the case next time before you leave the store. I've always made a habit of doing it because I don't trust those little EB/Gamestop rats...

Yeah, I was watching the guy who was getting my games and I also opened up the case to see if everything was in order before leaving.

Go back and demand to speak to the manager. If you complained about it they would probably give you a disk.

Here in TN they open new games and still charge full price. How many things do you pay full price for after being removed from its original packaging? None if your smart. Shop S-MART

I go there all the time, the people at my local EB are nothing but pleasant

I just watch everytime they put the game in to make sure it's in there. One time they almost put in the Xbox copy of a game I was buying for my 360 and I caught it and got it switched.

EBGames locations are hit and miss for customer support/satisfaction. The one from back home (small town) was very un-organized and didn't seem to really know what was going on. I had one time about two years ago when I bought a couple of games, went outside to the car, opened the case and there were no games in either. Went back inside to ask about it and it eventually turned into me standing around for about a 1/2 hour, waiting for the manager to come down on his day off. The one I use now in the city is much more pleasant and understanding about problems...IE - Fixing them on the spot.

Would the store be able to check inventory on the used games? like to see how many empty used cases vs how many discs they have? or something to that extent?

Better yet, they can check their computer inventory (how much the computer says they have) compared to what they actually have. Since the computer says they sold one but they actually didnt give you the disk, they will find an extra disk in their possession.

As another poster said, your best bet is to ask them to check their inventory. I work at GameStop (which own EB now), if they gave you an empty case, their inventory will show a surplus. Of course, if the actual employee stole it, this won't do any good, since it is no longer in the store.

The only problem with trying to get this resolved is that there is no proof that the employee stole the game. If he doesn't have it, and you call the police, then things get messy.

Talking to a manager won't do much good for one reason. You left the store with the item. EB/GameStop have policy, or most do, that if it leaves the store, whatever condition it is in is no longer their concern. This got stated to me and my cousin when he purchased a used 360 that started screwing up with the DVD drive that night. Upon return, the seal has been warped which had been noted when we bought it. However, because we left the store with it, it was no longer their responsibility. Again, you also don't have proof that the employee did anything wrong.

I only shop EB/Gamestop when I have to. There are certain titles that they get which no one else does. That is the ONLY time. I don't like being pestered about preordering items or buying things used. I also have had countless horrible experiences in all the local stores (GA/TN). I've been told they were closed while standing in line waiting to pay just a moment after they rang the person infront of me up. I've been completely ignored when making a purchase and had several things tacked on despite my protest and then been kicked out BECAUSE of my protest over the same issue. Apparently, its alright to not listen to the customer, but when the customer argues that he didn't ask for that, he is causing a scene and running off the other customers. The list goes on and on.

You know I argued with so many store managers about this exact same thing. I was going to buy a copy of Transformers (the good one!) on the PS2 about 3 years ago, so I went to EB to see if they had it, since it was right down the street from where I lived.

I found the case on the shelf so I asked the kid, "do you have any sealed copies?". He said, "No, just the open floor display". I asked him to see the disc. He pulled the disc out of this haggard paper sleeve (like you get a driver/program disc on when you buy a sound card) and the disc had tons of scratches and fingerprints all ovr it. I told him that they must be crazy to sell that as a new game. He said, "well it's never left the store, so it's still new, but if you buy and walk out the door it's used." I said that the disc is thrashed and could hardly be classified as "new". I told the kid that I should get that for the used price since it's trashed. He said they can't do that, so I told the kid to stuff it and left.

Edit: The moral of the story is that they could have been selling me a used game at a new price, but how would I know the difference. I'm sure they scam people like that all the time.

They also seemed to have stopped opening 8 copies of the game just to fill holes on the shelves. I used to hate that! You'd go to buy a new game and the only ones they have left are the 20 opened copies with the discs in paper sleeves.

In canada there still EB games, so the OP might live in canada

But yeah man That happened to a friend of mine before just call the headquarters thats complete BS they ripped you off, but if the the employee really did steal it you fell right into his trap, because you cant prove that you walked out without a disk, unless they check a security camera and see him not put the disk in, then youd be home free with a disk and some free stuff for your trouble

Well that honestly stinks. But seriously why would you buy it used? I never understand why people buy new releases used. What do you save? A whole 5 dollars? Anyways, you should go back and demand they give you another copy or file a complaint to whoever sold you the game, i'm pretty sure their name should be on the receipt. Go up to that person (identifiable by nametag) and demand he give you the game or you'll get him fired.
