Since the Fall Update will let you intall the game to your harddrive and will have many of arcade games and things, also netflix, who is going to get a larger harddrive because of it? I am planning on not but who knows, I might decide to because of the new things.

Don't really need it right now. If hard drive space becomes an issue later on from the new fall games than I will consider getting it.

I really don't plan on it. I don't feel like paying 100+ dollars for more memory...

I am going to up my hard drive space on the 360 but I'm not buying one of the actual 360 hard drives. I'm just going to use my external hard drive for it since it works just as well.

I'll probably buy a 120GB HDD if it drops in price. Not just for the update but i hate needing to delete videos and demos only after a few weeks then wanting to redownload them.

I'm thinking about it. Though if I do it, I won't be just getting the 120 GB one-I probably will save the money to get an XBOX 360 Elite because I want the HDMI output from it. I won't make a descision until after I get all the games I want this holiday, though.

I'm planning on getting a 120 gb, not for videos (why would i buy vids when i can dl them for free...?) but I'm getting it for installing games. I hate the noise of my 360 (esp when my ps3 is practically silent), and the disc reader is messed and kinda freezes a lot, so that should help a lot

Not going to waste my money on a rip-off overpriced XBOX HDD. I refuse to pay an $80+ mark-up for 120 GB Laptop HDD in a MS case.

I'm pretty sure Xbox 360 hard drives are sold with a transfer kit for all your saves, and media. Anyway, I do wish I had a larger hard drive. It seems like 20GB isn't enough. I'm constantly having to delete things to make room for newer stuff. The cost of a 120GB hard drive is a bit harsh. $140.... that could be a few other games, or put towards something more useful, or just saved for when I really need it. But oh well. I should be fine I guess, as long as I can continue to delete whatever else is not needed. I highly doubt I'll use the netflix service on my Xbox 360, and I'm fine with just using my disk to play games, like I always have been. Still, it would be such a nice luxury to be able to have so much space.

There is a way. After you have puchased the other hard drive you can contact Xbox support. They will send you a cable for transfer of saved games and other data.

i swapped my PS3 hard drive because it was affordable and relatively easy. I only have a 20 GB 360 hdd and will not swap it beceause Microsoft's prices for 360 hard drives are ridiculous. Also, as is typical for Microsoft, I have to buy the 360 hard drive and not whatever hard drive i want.

That said, I won't be needing it. I do download Arcade games, but as everyone knows, they take no space anyway. I already have real Xbox Originals and i don't use netflix anyway (have a video store down the street). I also have no intention of installing my games. I bought a new hard drive for my PS3 not because i wanted to. I did so because of all those annoying mandatory installs. If I hated them when they were mandatory, why would I take them when they're optional?

I still have 11 gigs free on my 20g HDD. So I probably wont upgrade mine, I will just install 2 or 3 games that I know I will play everyday.

Already bought myself a 120GB hard drive off of eBay for $70. Sold my original for $25 so it basically costed me $45 to get another 100GB of memory. Not bad if I say so myself.

I have been closer to getting one than I ever have before due to the new install feature, but I still don't know. Those things are a big rip off, I just don't want to buy one. I still have like 8GB left on my current HDD so I will see how long that can last.

You can use an external hard drive through the 360's USP port to save games? Does it really work? If so then that's a great idea.

I've been wanting to get either an Elite or the 60gb Pro. I'm not sure which one I'm going to get or when I'm going to get it. I'm definitely in need of a bigger hard drive since I have like 6 gb left on my 20gb

With those obscene prices, I'll keep deleting stuff to make room. At the rate things are going, I don't really think I'll ever get a new HDD.

Do tell. Provided it isn't illegal. o_0

And how come this is a practice approved by Microsoft? I thought they would be more keen to getting their eyeballs ripped out of their sockets than allowing people to not spend money on their stuff.

Edit: If this is true I'm so getting a big ass hard drive.

I'm not too bothered by it, to be honest. I only have a 20GB thought so it would be good to have more memory but I'm not bothered enough to spend £100 or something to increase the memory. Plus, I don't plan to save my games to the hard drive, the loading time doesn't bother me and I'd rather have all the free space I can get.

As far as I know external drives are read only when connected to the 360. That's great for pictures, music and movies, but makes it impossible to use the external in the manner djjman says he does without some third party work around. Maybe they changed it in an update or something, I don't know. I highly doubt it though.

do you mean you save actual xbox 360 downloads. or just music and games that you have stored on your external hard drive.

Cuz id like to be able to save my gamertag and such on an external hard drive.

it's not just the loading time's that will be fixed..

texture pop ups like what shown in gears of war and mass effect will also happen less.
