thier both good games but halo 2 is better in my opinion because its graphics are better. its story line is more enhanced and its gampley is incredible.. also the AI in the game are much much smarter and u can dual weild.. the only bad thing is that the automatic human weapon sucks balls so yea.. but besides that it is really much better.
i think i might play them both this weekend and decide, i can't remember...halo 1 had better use of vehicles and a better ending. halo 2 had better multiplayer. both pretty good.
Even before getting xbox live I prefered halo 2 as it just seemed more polished. The combat was more evolved in halo 2 (see what I did there!) as there is more thought gone into what weapons to choose for certain enemies and groups as you have the ability to dual weild and there are more weapons. Just my opinion though, don't take me down :p
I don't like Halo 2. The story was terrible and the online is a joke. It was totally casualized. The game was far too easy, even on Legendary. It has way to much aim-assist. I love Halo, but I hate Halo 2.
I think Halo 2 is better then the first one because the weapons are better and the levels are longer and better. The multiplayer in Halo 2 is way better in my opinon, the maps are bigger and more detailed, not to mention you can blow up the warthog and the ghost
i'd have to go with H2, the campaign was more immersing, it gave us a better view of the covenant workings, but personally i think the multiplayer made this game.
Halo 1 Is he Best, You just cant beat the first in game series, noway, halo 2 was alright, nothing compared to the magnificence of stepping into the world of halo as 1 had
I don't think I can say that one is overall better than the other. Halo 1 has better campaign hands down and there are things I like about it's multiplayer but mostly it's multiplayer is broken. Between the pistol that doubles as a sniper rifle and the rockets that move about as fast as a bullet, the multiplayer that could have one of the best ever fell short in my opinion. Halo 2's campaign is amazing but it was just missing something that made it not have that same epic feel that Halo:CE had. Halo 2's multiplayer was absolutely revolutionary though. Probably one of the most important console games ever made simply because it showed how successful online multiplayer could be on a console. Either way you go both games are two of the best ever made and have changed gaming as we know it forever.
Both are really good. Halo 1 I enjoyed the single player campaign more. (Up until the point of the Flood anyways) Halo 2 had a nice campaign but I just found I enjoyed Halo's more. The graphics are obviously better in Halo 2 and I like the Chief's new armor better. I also really like that in Halo 2 we get to see a lot more about the Elites. However Halo 2's hit detection (in Multi) is Newbified. It's bad... It's horrible. In Halo 1 you had to actually aim and shoot. If you missed their head by a inch you missed there head. Not in Halo 2, it hits even if your off their head by an inch or more! Both are great games though either way.
I wish there is a option where you choose both of them. They're both really succesful games. Halo 1 has the good campaign. Halo 2 was good because of the multiplayer.
 While Halo 2 is the more refined and "better" game, nothing compares to what me and all of my friends felt as freshmen in High school playing co-op and mp on the original Halo, it blew everyone away, and was the reason I bought an Xbox.
I HATED Halo 2. My brother, however, is a Haloholic. Halo 1 was the reason why we got the Xbox 360. (yes, i converted partially from nintendo to Microsoft)
For me, it's Halo 1 just for sentmental reasons. What I mean is back in the Halo one days, me and my freinds used to host these really killer LAN parties that I have fond memories of.  Around when Halo 2 came out, most of the people we used to invite had moved away (most were collage students) and the LAN parties never really matched the quality of the ones we used to have.Â
I liked Halo 2's online multiplayer gaming as opposed to how I had Halo 1's online multiplayer gaming. A lot less lagging, and it was made to work for online multiplayer. Plus there was more updated for Halo 2, or rather, there were updates for Halo 2. Like the new maps that just came out.
