Nintendo isn't on the path to irrelevance since they have great game franchises. Something Atari doesn't. The only place Nintendo is struggling in is the console market. The Wii U is struggling bad. I could see Nintendo bowing out of the console market down the road, but with great game franchises and a strong handheld system the company as a whole will be just fine.

The video game crash of the 80's played a huge role in their downfall, but other things contributed as well. Like I said its an entirely different situation and this guy can't really comment on Nintendo's situation.
