Discuss here about the 2 uncoming stargate movies. "Stargate: The Arc of Truth" & "Stargate: Continuum"
New info on "The Arc of Truth"
Beware of minor spoilers ("Line In the Sand" and "Dominion.")
The war with the forces of the Ori continues. But Earth (and all of our galaxy) has just gotten a major break: Tomin, Vala's husband and a commander of the invading armies, has defected.
SG-1 brings Tomin to Earth, and he tells them that the worshippers of the Ori are about to bring another wave of warships through the intergalactic Supergate. There has been little we could do to stand up to only the first four ships ("Flesh and Blood") -- with dozens of ships fighting their holy war, the Ori victory will be swift. And a coordinated attack on Earth is most certainly imminent.
Tomin is welcomed as a guest, a war-torn soul who is still coming to terms with the fact that he has done terrible things in the service of false gods. But the I.O.A., the agency over the Stargate program, wants to interrogate him as an enemy prisoner. With Richard Woolsey occupied with the Atlantis expedition, they send James Merek to the S.G.C. Merek pretends to be friendly and disarming, an ally just doing his job, but makes it clear to Tomin that he holds him in great disdain, heartlessly confronting him about his war atrocities. Soon Vala can't listen any more.
Meanwhile, SG-1 is planning a bold mission to travel to the Ori home galaxy itself. They are in search of the "Ortus Mallum" (Latin for "place of origin"), perhaps to find the "Ark of Truth," which they hope can put an end to the war. Tomin wishes to go with them, believing that he can help SG-1 make contact with the anti-Ori underground.
"Stargate: The Ark of Truth" will begin principal photography on April 15, and is expected to be released on DVD in North America this fall. There is no word yet on a release in other countries, or a potential televised airing.
Anderson confirmed for Continuum
Richard Dean Anderson will appear in the upcoming movie Stargate: Continuum, Playback Daily is reporting and executive producer Brad Wright confirmed to GateWorld.
Anderson, who played Jack O'Neill on Stargate SG-1 for eight years before entering semi-retirement, will travel with an 18-person crew to the U.S. Navy's Applied Physics Laboratory Ice Station in the Arctic next week to film scenes for the direct-to-DVD movie (story).
Production resumes in Vancouver on May 22, following shooting for SG-1's first movie, The Ark of Truth.
Written by Wright and directed by Martin Wood, Stargate: Continuum is a stand-alone time travel story that continues the adventures of SG-1 beyond the show's tenth season. The movie is expected to hit DVD shelves in North America this fall.
I'm not reading any info on the story. I want it to be a surprise :).deshields538Its not any spoiler, it say thay're filming in the artic
But U.K. viewers will probably will have to wait which i am not happy about, i just hope its worldwide releasemjk1
I'm sure it will be, but the wait will be anoying if there is one.
I still don't actually know what these are going to be? A movie? A tv movie? a straight to DVD release?
Yeah they have so much fun on the set, there is probably lots of bloopers, but they never put them in the DVD's.shockwave04I know, some of the behind the scenes stuff they do show slays me. A couple faves: - from "Frozen" when Carter is webcamming with the Antarctic and the other science chick asks "How can we determine that?" and Amanda Tapping gets this goofy look on her face and says "It's not that hard.... Jesus!" - Anna Louise-Plowman (Sarah/Osiris) from Summit pulling a couple of falsies out of her top, waving at the camera and yelling "Look what they make me do!!!!" - from the same ep, the actresses who played Kali and Bast are sitting in full costume having lunch, when the guy who plays Yu (also in costume) comes up behind them, puts his arms around them and declares "These are Yu's women!" while the women in question kind of roll their eyes
[QUOTE="mjk1"]if they are bringing her back i hope they consider bringing back Yu, it will be good to see a system lords reunion lol mgmeek
i guess if he got to a sarcophagus in time, but otherwise he's D - E - A - D...Dead.
but remember baal is going to go back in time and messed it up so he could still be alive, actually nirrti was killed in metamorphosis and she is going to return so they could if they wanted bring back Yu
In an interview with gateworld Robert C. Cooper tells us what is the 'Arc of Truth?'
"I find it a truly fascinating centerpiece," Cooper said of the Ark itself. "It's a device that essentially is a -- I don't want to say 'brain-washing' -- but it can be used to convince you of the truth."
"Say you believe something," he said, "and I think that what you believe is wrong. So I program the Ark a certain way and open it and show you the inside, and now you'll believe the truth -- or believe what I've programmed."
Essentially, the Ark is a device capable of brain-washing Priors, Ori proselytizers who bend worshippers to their will.
"One of the Alteran scientists invented this device and said, 'Look, we can avoid any kind of war by just using this on them and brain-washing them.' And the rest of the Alterans said, 'No, that's just wrong. Philosophically and morally it's wrong.'"
Instead, the Alterans departed from what is now known as the Ori galaxy, eventually making their way to the Milky Way. "They had a ship, they had weapons, they could have killed the Ori (the people, human beings the Ori). [But] they left. And they came to our galaxy. And history happened the way the series has told us."
Dr. Daniel Jackson now believes the Ark may still exist. But in search of the device, the team will have to ask themselves the same question the Alterans once faced: "'Is this morally wrong?' Even if we do find it, should we use it? Is it the right thing to do to convince the Ori followers that their beliefs are wrong?'
"Because," Cooper admitted, "it's not necessarily wrong to believe in something ... what's wrong is to murder somebody because they don't believe the way you do. So we're not convincing them not to kill people -- we're actually changing what they believe, if this all works out in the way we think it might."
Some fans have argued that Stargate technologies like the Ark, the Prior inhibitor and the Kull disruptor have lent to "quick-fix" solutions in stories. However, executive producer Brad Wright has iterated that finding technology to defeat Earth's enemies has been a staple of the series from the very beginning, and is in fact integrated into SG-1's standing orders.
Stargate: The Ark of Truth will do what Stargate does best: point a mirror back on its audience. "Philosophically," Cooper told GateWorld, "it's a very interesting moral argument, which I think is very current and a very contemporary idea."
News Thanks to Gateworld
AWESOME. sounds great.
one question when they say "Ori (the people, human beings the Ori)" this doesn't really make sense to me, b/c it sounds like he's only calling the human followers of the Ori the Ori. if that makes sense. lol. the Ori after all are just Alterans that stayed and ascended as well.

well i figured out he had something to do with Nintendo, that should count for something!
Who's the president of MS and Sony of America, without going on WIKI!??
MS is Peter Moore, and sony just fired their head, and that was Ken kuraigui(sp?) Yeah I didn't evan have to look it up :Dshockwave04
WTF?? did he really get fired?
Anyways, I think Sarge's mental will is too strong to succumb to brain washing lol. If you tried using it on him it would probably explode.
