From Feb to Mid April, Captain Unohana will teach soul reaper students about Food, Cooking, Nutrients, and Health. Once I give this thread to Captain Unohana, the lesson will begin. Please PM Unohana if you going join the CIass Yes. You will take exams and get a grade for it. I will ask if Old Man this would be an achivement in the card battle.

(RESERVED For Lessons)

 I'm going to put each new lesson here so it will be easy to find... no searching the thread for them this time.  Of course all the lessons will be here as I'm not going to be removing any of them. 

The only things you will need for these lessons are a pen / pencil and some paper for making notes. If you prefer to use your computer that's fine too.  Just be sure to study because there will be a final exam when this Educational Arc ends in Mid-April.

Lesson  One:

I would like you to keep track of the foods you eat over the next several days then we will have a c1ass discussion on what this means for being a healthy shinigami and how you can improve it, if there are any changes that can be made.

 Lesson Two:

Look up several healthy recipes on the internet and creat a menu for a full week ( 7 days ) and then post your menus here. We will be discussing them over the next two ( 2 ) weeks.  We will be covering nutritional content, including calories, protein, fat, carbohydrates, sodium and sugars, and the effects these have on the body.

 Lesson Three:

 This lesson will cover the various ways we get energy from the foods we eat and how the foods we eat can help boost out immune system and much more.  I've found some really good information on that from a few different sources which I will put into a post for discussion.

Wow this is getting good. I'm going be in the back watching. You do not want know my eating habits.... Trust me. Half of you going be surprise. Let's say.... I eat 6 times a day and probably won't stop until 1 AM. :P 

Anyway, Lesson 1 looks good, Captain Unohana. Good Job.

Nothing unusual in my food 'menu' I think , but I should keep track of them for a bit ^.^ , most are homemade anyhow :P

Well since you're going to be at the back of the class I expect you will be participating, therefore you will also be keeping track like the rest of the class.

Thank you, I thought it the best way to get things rolling here. Can't teach a class on healthy eating and cooking if the people in class don't realize what they're eating.

Well that's really good you only eat homemade foods, but if there are any canned or processed ingredients in them that is where you have to be careful. And now days it's very hard to not use some of them.

Hmm , good point , a lot of aditives get there that we don't even know about , most of them are beter left unknown for our own good , processed is the same , mostly worse , tasty but unhealthy.

That's just supplements... they don't replace the kinds of food you eat... I've used the before, sure it works but you still have to cook and eat healthy.

Maybe you should join the class Aizen...

Nobody is stupid when it comes to eating... its just that 99% of all people make bad choices for food because of the convience of fast foods, and the like.  Instead of choosing some fruit to snack on they choose to eat what is termed "junk food" otherwise known as highly processed foods.  The trick is to eat few highly processed foods and eat more natural foods.  

It is hard to do sometimes, because of the very busy lives we all have and its much easier to grab a bag of chips instead of bringing say an apple to snack on.  I hope that this makes sense to you all.  

This is why I want you to keep track of the foods you eat, this will help you to see what choices you make and thus help you to make changes if they are needed.

I try to eat healthy when I can, yes even I sometimes eat unhealthy, BUT I also know this fact and try to limit the unhealthy snacks.  We can't totally eliminate them beu we can reduce how much we choose to eat them.

I know I'm glad I cut back now. Too much will really mess me up. I also need to lay off the juice. I need to stay drinking water like I did in the summer. It was water nonstop. I also try apple juice. That's probably the only juice I drink. That and cranberry juice.

Well I don't suppose other people's small teachings about effects of products is not appreciated . It is and some of these small details usually are totally unknown . One person can't know everything ( let's ignore the informative internet :P ) and more and more opinions , knowledge and points of view are definitely making tis more complete .

For example : Did you know that mandarin's that have no seeds are NOT healthy ? It is because normal fruits have seeds. They are artificially messing with the fruit ( using different substances or whatnot ) to modify the fruit so that it won't have seeds . ( Chemistry teacher told us about this , we were all shocked )

I'm glad to see you all really thinking about what you're eating and drinking. It just goes to show you that when you actually pay attention to things such as this you become more aware.  

So here's a question for you all:

If you were to plan a menu for a single day, starting with the first meal of the day ( not necessarily breakfast ), what would you choose to make?

Keep this in mind though, you don't have to eat "traditional breakfast foods" like we're accustomed to here in the USA.  I myself have been known to eat a big bowl of ramen for my first meal of the day.

Here's what I've eaten today.

Homemade Breakfast Burrito: eggs, cheese, sliced turkey on a flour tortilla and a cup of coffee with creamer & sugar

Salad with ceaser dressing, swedish meatballs over egg noodles and canned mixed fruit salad  

Several glasses water

today i had scrambled eggs some whole milk(cause i love it :D) and some like fries that havelike minimal salt XD lunch was a snack trhough. dinner was hamburger helper XD i substituted the ground beef for ground turkey though :P oh and for a mid day snack i had rye chips
