Your favourite stealth game.

What is it? Mine is Splinter Cell Conviction at the moment. It's faster paced than old SCs and more fluid while still have stealth elements in it, and it look way more badass than any other stealth game I played (all Hitman games, Assassins Creed 1, Splinter Cell 1 + 3)

Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory.

Tenchu (may be nostalgia talking though).

Splinter cell chaos theory, best stealth game and one of the best game ever made. SC conviction is good but too fast paced and barely feels like splinter cell

It's a tough call between Thief 1 and Thief 2, but I think I preferred the second game's huge missions more. Either way, I think they're both leagues ahead of the rest of the stealth genre (or subgenre, or whatever).Planeforger

Thief 1, 2, Deus Ex, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, Tenchu. Oh, and I'm going to start a bandwagon here: Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from the Butcher Bay.

I like SPlinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow. Yes, CT is the better game, but by that time I started tiring of the formula.

One title that doesn't get nearly enough mention are the Rainbow Six games for the PC. I miss FPS games that played in that vein, if you so chose.

Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance.

MGS4, that was easy, may coz it's the only stealth game i played ... i played SP: PT but didn't liked it.

Assassins Creed 2. I really wish there was a great Tenchu game with high production values though.

Thief is the undisputed king of stealth.

I cant stand Conviction they destroyed the gameplay that made SC1 to DA great.

I think why they ditch the hardcore stealthsoit will suit the story moreand he don't have any proper equipment in Conviction.

Stealth is supposed to be slow. It's supposed to be thought out and calculated. Ideally, the purpose is to never be seen nor heard... the enemy should never notice your were even there. That's the purest that a stealth game can be. That's why people like Chaos Theory, even though it can be slow. Ironically, CT isn't even considered the purest form of stealth. Thief 1 and 2 are, or so they say. I have yet to play Thief 1 or 2 yet, but conceptually, it sounds like pure stealth. :P

Well obviously MGS4 is by far better than any game in the stealth genre, but its stealth mechanics aren't as good as... Thief: Deadly Shadows imo.

It depends what you're looking for.

The Game with the best stealth mechanics? Thief DS

Best game that has stealth? MGS4.

Probably not considered a stealth game but I though Batman AA had some really good stealth moments in it.

Perhaps one of the few stealth games I liked.

splinter cell 1 and chaos theory also escape from buthcer bay gets a mention, The MGS games aint really great stealth games

If I were to put aside everything else except stealth gameplay/mechanics, I think the Hitman games are probably the most in-depth.

But of course the Metal Gear Solid series is considered stealth-action, and those games are among my all-time favorites.

Would Crysis 1 count as a stealth game? I personally find that stealth plays an important role in that game when it comes to survival.
