Y did't the US go with the PS3 this gen

Pretty simple:

360 comes out sooner and people buy it

PS3 is too expensive, delaying people from buying it

Then they both drop price and more people are interested. They look at their friends (who will I play with) and they all have 360's and not PS3's

The ps3 came out later and cost much more than the 360. If the ps3 was not 600 buck for launch then it might be doing much better.

THIS^^^^...I support the PS3 now days and gave my junk 360 to my kids for them to mess with. I almost lost interest in gaming because of the 360 problems over and over and over and over and over and over and over...Thanks SONY for restoring my love for gaming.:)

all the people that only care aout sports games and playing against friends in the room prolly get 360 80% of the time to why not its 100$ cheaper

and theres alot of people that do that college kids in dorms, the hood, and who ever else likes sports games mostly lol

Speaking from first hand retail experience,

The average American consumer is slightly above retarded when it comes to buying things.

I guaranty you that a majority (over 50%) of the people who bought a 360 didn't know there was a online fee and people who bought a Wii thought it was 1:1 motion controls by what they saw on a commercial.

Consumer responsibility is almost non-existent here. Like Top Gun said.... that's why the f-150 is the best selling car... and we are the onlypeople that buy it :lol:

Did you poll the people thatpurchased Xbox360's and find theydidnt know that Xbox Live had a fee to arrive at your 50% figure? As for f150 trucks, have you considered that perhaps they like the look of it and find the cost suitable? I would guess thatmost casual Wii owners know nothing about how the controller tech works or even what 1:1 motion tracking means and bought the system because it looked fun and was within their budget. Im not American but interested in way you think they are retarded or just slightly above it?

Reason why I chose Xbox was because of the Games HALO and Gears and of course LIVE. Blue Ray was irrelevant to me since I don't play movies on game consoles. The price of $600 was just too ridiculous.

im just saying that 360 comign out first has made it pop into the mind of alot gamers first before PS3. When peoplewho got excited for next gen firstbought their console, chances are it was a 360 since it came out a year early and was affordable. 360 is kinda the standard this gen for alot of people.

eh, PS3 had games in about2008 when MGS 4 came out. and to completely write it off in the states if kinda foolish. the gap isnt THAT big. I think PS3 has proven again adn again that it isnt on the doomsday clock anymore and that it can comeback in most regards after being beat down for a couple years.

Thats funny, because I personaly have switched my views of the "Cool" console to PS3 lately. I mean, 360 seems to mainstream and casual to me now for some reason. thats not to say I dont like it still or that it dosent do certain stuff better, im just saying from perspective wise.
