Xbox Series X costs 499, comes out November 10

So now all that is left is for Sony to announce the price of PS5 and PS5 AD.

We need to see side by side comparisons between the 2 consoles. If the scaling on the Series S is competent, the Series S will do very well next gen. That $299 price is very nice

All they've said is 1440p (with upscaling to 4K) and up to 120fps. And it should be stronger than the Xbox One X.

Microsoft have really impressed of late I have to say. and that's a good price for the tech that's in the the box. Surely PS5 needs to be at least 400-450 considering the tech is inferior to XSX right? They are beating Sony at both the power game and the price game either way with their SKU's.

What they should've done is announce a new Blinx on Mario's birthday.

Well according to leaks it is 4Tf all other leaks have been basically confirmed,from cheaper to no disc drive.

So the leaks point at 4TF which is kind of to low for 1440p unless quality is on the low side,maybe is that they tend to have a xbox one kid of machine with low settings.

For example is not apple to apple but the new AMD 5300 which is low end and market as 1080p card is 4.64TF and is RDNA1,sure it doesn't have all the features RDNA2 has but is not completely different,remember the xbox one X is Polaris so RDNA one over polaris does have a nice gain so that 4TF could beat the xbox one X or match it.

I was going to compare it with the 5500XT but that one is 22CU and and is 5+TF so maybe the Series S land between the RX5300 and 5500XT.

That was the kind of XSX price $499 I was expecting to be and the leaks suggesting it'll cost $599 were completely off that's for goddamn sure. MS pricing both XSS & XSX so well, that's a great way to start hyping next-gen consoles. Now I wanna see how will Sony respond to this now.

Plus (depending on province) the sales tax is anywhere from 5% to around 14% (my province Ontario is 13%)

@davillain-: Oh that’s not taking taxes into account I’m just going by exchange rates right now. I think right now our dollar is valued at around .75 give or take to the US dollar. Me estimating $599 is being hopeful that Microsoft won’t be pricing it at the full value of exchange. Taxes here in my province is 13%. That estimated price of $599 will total $678 after all is said and done.

Just received the email confirmation of 449 for series-X wow cheaper than I expected.

Price is good for what hardware is inside. Definitely better than what I was expecting.

@Pedro: If I remember correctly X1X was $650AU. XB1 was $650 also. So yeah, bit of an increase. Not sure if that’s what I’d call good.

@regnaston: Nice. Those were the Canadian prices that I was hoping for/expecting. Good to see them confirmed.

It maybe the exchange rate. $500 USD to AU is ~$687 excluding duties that may be incurred on the item. It still sucks that the price went up by $100.

yeah that isn't a bad price point. And my phone contract is up so I will go into BestBuy for their black friday sales and see what offers they have. Usually they will give you a "free phone" on some carriers and a $400 BestBuy credit, I will use that for the XSX. Even if I don't like the phone they give free I can keep using my S9 which I like (so I wont be buying Day 1 but hopefully in the first month should supplies last)

Those are both really good prices. It's going to be interesting to see where the PS5 lands.
