3. It really isn't. Most people consider the "next-gen" consoles to be the PS4 and Xbone. The Wii U, like the Wii, is, yet again, in it's own market. It's only reason to exist right now is to make Nintendo fans happy... and Nintendo knows this, which is why they are only really making games for Nintendo fans.
