Xbox fan here, recommend which FLOP I should play next. Redfall or Starfield!!

It depends on what you are in the mood for. There are more loading screens in Starfield.

I KNOW RIGHT?? With over 5 THOSAND games to play on current gen leading SONY and the illustrious PS5, it can be difficult to choose!

My advice is to just to dive right in and bask in the greatness that is your current gen leading PS5!

Falling under 30% in recent reviewers. I feel like this is really harsh, to be honest, and I gave it a 6/10 in the hype thread on my final post. As Pedro said, it really depends on what mood you are in. While Starfield has its faults, I still would play Starfield rather than Redfall IMO.

As you quoted recent games I assumed it would be a given you talking about recent games. I've amended my post accordingly.

I love the older games, which is a good job as there is no recent or future ones.

Starfield is the most pathetic failure since Infinite, so you should give it a shot.

If you love pure boredom , I will say Starfield

As a warning, tho, you will feel incredibly pathetic while playing Starfield. Then again, its an experience on its own, so go for it.

I haven't played either yet, but Starfield looks more enjoyable to me.

Not a failure, just a massive disappointing game from Bethesda. Skyrim is still miles better than Starfield and that's sad for me to say. The problem is it was hyped so much for so long everyone’s expectations were way too high for it. It's a good thing I put my expectations low.

If you have Gamepass you can try both and decide if they're worth your time with little financial loss :)

Its a mega failure. Took them 8 years to develop, and they weren't intelligent enough to know that their engine can't handle video games released in 2023? Epic fail.

Just got my Xbox S, asking fellow SW's what game I should play next. I can't help it if they both flopped.

True! Being the gold standard in video games makes SONY fans crazy. I'm glad I'm unbiased and own both consoles like a true gamer!

@Heil68: personally I kind of liked Redfall. Fairly solid shooter with an interesting game world.

Starfield wasn't terrible but honestly all it did was make me want to play Skyrim (because it does the open-world action-RPG better) and Star Citizen (because it does the space living sim better).

Yeah one thing that being an older gamer these days has done for me is eliminated almost all sense of hype.

Some might call that sad and maybe it is, but it guards me well against disappointment. I really DGAF what well-known developer or what respected studio is making the game, what the pedigree is, etc.. for the most part (there are some exceptions).

It's why I was able to enjoy Redfall and why I was able to enjoy Starfield. I was also able to be more objective in my praise and criticism of both games, as it wasn't some personal affront to me.

People need to relax, but then again where would System Wars be if everyone was a diplomatic, Christ-like saint such as myself?😁😋

play them all. i got an xbox a bit back and still in the middle of doing a tour of their first party games. like going to california, hoping for malibu but getting skid row

Starfield gets my vote

I've been playing it on and off since release and I've enjoyed it for what it is. It's not Skyrim, but it's enjoyable on it's own. I didn't experience the long load times or low graphics settings that the Xbox has, so I would also take that into consideration especially if you're running it on a series S.

You might as well play Starfield. Though I have only played it for 3 hours, it's pretty good. Remember this: just because a game flops, that doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad game. It just means that it didn't live up to the hype. Yes, Starfield flopped, but it's still a good game to me.

Starfield, then after you put 200+ hours into it you can try declaring you weren't having fun.

If you are looking for real flops, try Spider-Man 2 or TLOU Part 1 for PC next. They got you covered.

I suppose that's the main disappointment; that I only got 50 hours out of Starfield, and not the 500+ I was hoping for like I did out of Skyrim.

But that's entitlement and a "me problem", not a Bethesda problem. You want to gripe about bugs and performance, that's fine.

We use "cow" on this forum, but a lot of the cows in SW are the very definition of "Sony Pony" - galloping into social media forums to try and discredit the competition.

Sony is out selling your Xbox 3:1, so why won't i be discrediting its competition? Hell, what competition? There's none, Xbox is way behind and irrelevant.

You shouldn't blindly moo out what another cow says, its selling 3:1 in Europe, not everywhere around the world.

Europe is good enough, which tells me that the 3:1 is valid. For example, i know for a fact nobody is buying xboxes in Australia, and you're one of the only ones who own it.
