And the 20 GB hard drive is $100. The Xbox 360 is just a wanna-be next-gen console.

The adapter and 20GB HDD are massive, massive price gouges.  They're worth like a third of that.

The HDD may be at-cost in order to establish HD-DVD or counter PS3's blu-ray.  However, even if it is at-cost I doubt it'll be lower than 200 dollars (manufacturing, specialization, shipping, etc).

The 100 dollar price point was publically retracted by the writer of the article, he said it and the HDMI-support were both speculation.

the only thing bad about xbox 360 is buying pos wireless adapter and hd-dvd drive.

HD-DVD is in no way, shape or form better than blu-ray.  Blu-ray is superior, period.  End of story.

The drives are just cheaper, that's it.  Discs are the same cost retail.

HD-DVD players are MUCH cheaper. HD-DVDs are LIGHTYEARS cheaper, and 30 gb is more than enough space. Sorry but i am not willing to pay such a price for a few more GBs.

And, Bluetooth is much more stable and advanced than RF (radio frequency?).  I don't know where you get your information, lemming, but the PS3 is a more expensive and more technologically advanced piece of machinery.

Yeah, HD-DVD players are about half the cost (for now. if sony produces the blu-ray ps3 drive in the millions imagine how much retail players can tank in price with that sort of experience).

However, HD-DVD and Blu-ray movies are the same cost, last I checked.

Finally, it's 30 GB versus 50 GB.  20 is not 'a few more.'  It's 66% more.  That's more than significant.

You gotta be a fakeboy.  Bluetooth isn't a wireless network adapter, its a peripheral connectivity thang.  Has nothing to do with your internet. And if you think people can hijack your bluetooth connection, they could more easily do so to your RF (ever play with multiple RC cars in the same room? the controllers go bonkers).

Bluetooth won't lag.  Never does.

Where do you get your information?  PS3 is superior (technologically) to the 360 and it is therefor more expensive.

bluetooth is for wireless connectivity there's other types of technologys for wireless xbox 360 uses other means not bluetooth chip connectivity. xbox 360s wireless is superior to ps3. xbox 360s cpu is superior its gpu is more powerful xbox 360s gpu does more operations per mhz.  more effective,  hdmi is nothing but  single wire made to carry sound and video sigal in one cord its no superior to dvi. except it cant carry sound sigal. hdmi is nothing, xbox 360 could do 1080p with its componet.

Yeah, 360 uses RF - RADIO FREQUENCY.  It's an old-as-heck technology that they used for those RC cars you played with (or still do) as a kid.  Bluetooth is more advanced, more expensive and more reliable.

Yes its 20gb more, but is that really neccesary? If it is all about space, why dont we all load ourselves with Holographic discs readers? Oh wait, we cant afford it...

hd-dvd better than blu ray, but still , boohoobarney

HD-DVD is in no way, shape or form better than blu-ray. Blu-ray is superior, period. End of story.

The drives are just cheaper, that's it. Discs are the same cost retail.

HD-DVD players are MUCH cheaper. HD-DVDs are LIGHTYEARS cheaper, and 30 gb is more than enough space. Sorry but i am not willing to pay such a price for a few more GBs.

No you are just a fanboy :|

Oh really, i didnt know, what sort? I dont know, stating facts isnt being a fanboy?

You didn't state facts. Blu-ray discs hold 66% more data, that isn't 'a few gigabytes' That's 'a few DOZEN gigabytes'.

Yeah...and oblivion the biggest game ever made....fit on half of a regular DVD....just a thought.

It doesn't matter how big it is when all you need to do is reuse/restructure textures for each zone.  There are larger games.

Totally.  But in a few years, Blu-ray players will dip in price and they're still backward compatible.  Then, when you buy one (why not?  only a few hundred dollars and a new generation toy...) you'll end up buying blu-ray movies.  Etc.

Exactly how it worked with DVD.  I was happy with my VHS movies and ended up springing 400 bucks for a DVD player.  Now I only buy DVDs.

MS as well as Sony ove rrice but I think MS does it more. Their controllers cost more for some reason, their reason is "we believe ours is worth $10 more."

Yes, let's compare a 20,000 dollar piece of experimental technology to a ~1,000 dollar piece of proven technology. Again, the cost-efficiency on BD-ROM is horrible. There isnt a game that breaks the 5.5gb mark and you are saying you need 50gb. Compression is getting better, in 5 years or so, an odd game or two will hit 8.5gb. In this case, isnt 30gb more than adequate, and considering its cheap its a good format to adopt. Blu-ray while provides and even more impressive 50gb, the extra 20gb isnt neccesary, and considering its costs, its completely useless.

but that's like bragging about 7 blue tooth controllers for the PS3... What the Hell kind of game would you use 7 controllers on one screen.. btw, you have a like to show that the 360's controllers are using RF technology?

Read the entire thread.  I wasn't the one that started this.  I'm just saying Bluetooth is a better technology than RF.

OOH ooh let me do one!

Hmm...if grapes are $4, what makes you think that cheese will be $4?

If a pet bird is $50, what makes you think that a kitten will be $50? :D

i am dissapointed at M$ right now they have come out with these few add-ons but, in reality a next generation console would never have to add add ons cuz the console would already bring it.

And the 20 GB hard drive is $100. The Xbox 360 is just a wanna-be next-gen console.

20gb hdd should be like 49$ most the drive will go down in cost, and bigger ones will come out .

the only thing bad about xbox 360 is buying pos wireless adapter and hd-dvd drive.

xbox 360 uses RF ps3 uses bluetooth which sucks.

And, Bluetooth is much more stable and advanced than RF (radio frequency?). I don't know where you get your information, lemming, but the PS3 is a more expensive and more technologically advanced piece of machinery.

Blu ray > HD-DVD in capability
Bluetooth > RF

people will beable to steal your internet with bluetooth, with xbox 360 wireless they cant, xbox 360's controller will have less latency. ps3 bluetooth will lag.

xbox 360 has superior everything than ps3.

Bluetooth is more advanced, more expensive and more reliable.

xbox 360s wireless is better than ps3, bluetooth only has a range of 15 feet xbox 360 30 ft.

While bluetooth will be off better use, it is in no way better than RF. Lag is NON existent on RF, bluetooth wasnt designed for such high speed transfer not forgetting the interference.

hd-dvd better than blu ray, but still , boohoobarney

HD-DVD is in no way, shape or form better than blu-ray. Blu-ray is superior, period. End of story.

The drives are just cheaper, that's it. Discs are the same cost retail.

HD-DVD players are MUCH cheaper. HD-DVDs are LIGHTYEARS cheaper, and 30 gb is more than enough space. Sorry but i am not willing to pay such a price for a few more GBs.

Yes its 20gb more, but is that really neccesary? If it is all about space, why dont we all load ourselves with Holographic discs readers? Oh wait, we cant afford it...

Yes, let's compare a 20,000 dollar piece of experimental technology to a ~1,000 dollar piece of proven technology. Holographic discs may come into play in a decade or so for commercial purposes, but as of right now it's HD-DVD versus Blu-ray, with Blu-ray being superior by a longshot and costing ~500 dollars more for an initial investment, with the same media cost and a larger library of options.

I bet you my Gamespot account that next-gen FF will breach 10 gigs no contest.

But why settle for 'slightly adequate'?  I mean really, Blu-ray players will plummet in cost to manufacture after PS3s begin to roll out (assuming they use the same technology) and they'll be only ~50% more expensive than the HD-DVD players.  Same cost for media, slightly more expensive players, for a twice as good media that has the capacity to last twice as long?  I'd get the blu-ray player.

I can debunk that right here with a simple statement.
Bluetooth IS a type of RF. Nyah.  Bluetooth is just more of a universal, more developed and advanced format.
