@Juub1990: If Image quality kept you away from console gaming then the PS4 pro should be good for you.
Yea get rid of SLI it's just making your system heavier and there's more cables!
Buy a PS4 you can play Ratchet and Clank! Or save up for the Switch!
SLI hasn't been cool since VODOO! ^_^
SLI has always...always had compatibility and support issues. Any PC gamer will tell you that single GPU solution is always the least problematic way. But when SLI works and is supported by a game, it's quite the performance benefit.
You should keep it as punishment for being stoopid enough to go SLI in 2016.
If you sell it, sell it fast, 1080 Ti coming soon, will drop the value of your card fast (and it already has quite a bit just with its rumors)
As a pcgamer I agree sli is a pain in the ass, often it lacks the support it needs. Funny how dx12 was supposed to improve sli gaming immensely. Dx12 has been overhyped, so far it hasnt done us any good.
True that so far performance in DX12 has been inconsistent, but I think that's largely to it still being a new API. I'd wager that in time (maybe the next 12-18 months) as developers get more experience and better practiced with it, we'll start to see the gains it should be providing, where it'll be to DX11 what DX11 is to DX10, as it was to DX9 in the transition before.
So it's good to have a DX12 ready card now, for when games become better optimized for it and it becomes the more common standard for a good while... until DX13 comes around. Of course it's good to have options as well like Mantle and Vulkan.
@AdobeArtist: When the great Scorpio comes out, I'd expect more DX 12 support for the upcoming Xbox One games like Crackdown and Forza 7
Sell the extra card and use the money towards something which is actually financially worth it.
Agreed! Get the Pro!
Get the Philips CDi Maximus! I hear it's gonna dwarf all Pascal/i7 PCs making them obsolete ???

Wait, wait... you're saying that 2 years ago (in 2014) you did use that thing??

unfortunately. I don't know which systems are the worst, cd-i, jaguar or 3do. All are complete ass.

CD-I is probably better than the other two if you haven't played one before because it's borderline hilarious how the system is. If I had to complete a game, I would agree with this order.
Should have grabbed a titan x instead of SLI a 1080. Sell the card and get a pro ,especially if you don't have a ps4 at all.Your single 1080 will do just fine on it own. And big plus of it all most Xbox exclusives are going to Win10 so youll be mostly covered for all new games except for Nintendo. PC ps4 combo is the way to go nowadays ,add in Nintendo also if you must

The 3DO was awesome when it first came out. What turned people off was the price. I forgot about my SNES and Amiga A1200 when I got my Panasonic.
Madden 3DO, Road Rash 3DO, R&T's Need for Speed.....awesome. They were my first taste of the modern game format we know today at least a year before the PS1.
As an owner of 2 GTX 970's in SLI I am happy with SLI for 99% of games I use them with and I don't feel like I suffer from the problems that most people complain about. That being said with the current DX12 lineup not supporting SLI I am a bit disappointed. I was hoping to upgrade to 2 GTX 1080's, but like you said whats the point if a lot of the newer games don't support it? I can't even play Forza at 4K because my second card is practically doing nothing. I may wait out a generation to see how the newer cards perform, but if SLI doesn't pick up support for newer titles I may be going to the best single card solution from now on.
Previously I was very happy with my pair of GTX 970, and the pair still work very well for most games. However, now I'm quite into VR it simply isn't very compatible for VR gaming.
My next upgrade has to be a strong single GPU. As soon as GTX 1080 Ti comes out my 970s will be gone.
If there's games on PS4 that you wish to play then go for it. But don't expect the Pro to be on par with your PC experience. It's like owning a Ferrari and trading it for an Audi.
You already have a PS4, right? Sell your 1080 and save it for later. Wait a year or two before making your purchase at PS4 Pro. Check if the its performance improves when playing a non-4k game. Better safe than regret it later, okay?
Or
Check Switch if it's to your liking. Pokemon Sun and Moon's availability to Switch is already wanting me to purchase it.
I would sell it. Sli was awesome back in mid 2000's but now a days it just seems pointless, but don't let @kvally know , with his overpriced Area 51. Right now I'm running External GPU (Geforce 1080) with my macbook pro 2015 retina using Bootcamp (windows 10) with a dell 5k monitor with my games pretty much at Ultra settings and it runs awesomely. SO yah get rid of that extra card get yourself a PS4 pro. I'm glad I got my ps4 pro with the PSVR.

OMG I haven't seen that card since SHOGO lol. I ended up selling it for a
Have you sold it yet ?
Snub off the PS4 Pro and always use a PC !
PCs are real scary for stupid people.
fact fix
sell one of your 1080s and get a ps4 pro now, then sell the other one and get a 1080 ti when it comes out
I'd sell the card, pick up the cheapest PS4 I could find, buy The Last Guardian and Bloodborne, and then use what money I have left on 'medical' marijuana so I can enjoy the games.
Sell one of the cards and spend it all on "Medical Marijuana" I'm sure that's what he meant to say
