Wolfenstein 2 gameplay

only improvement from new order i see is using id tech 6. from worst engine of all time (id tech 5) to one of the best engine of recent times.

however, it still looks urghh..!

starting from wheelchair which is heavily scripted, then giant cutscene and walking simulator to milkshake market, then forced stealth and press x to kill behind back.

these people dont know what make wolfenstein especially RTCW good.

Keep playing RTCW then.

Then become a developer and make it that way. The devs that are creating Wolfenstein don't give a crap what you want. The world of gaming isn't going to cater to you

I think it looks great. Graphically and gameplay wise. It has caught my attention more than the The New Order ever did.

If it's as good as The New Order, I'll be happy... so far, it does.

my friend, you were saying thing about metro but atleast metro has depth, atmosphere, exploration, excellent story to justify to be cinematic.

this however has most clitche story and cutscene i have ever seen. each and every dialouge are so cheesy it seem written by 12 year old.

screw this crap. i will stick to Doom and wait for Metro Exodus.

atleast in Doom you have to shoot enemies multiple time before performing a glory kill. here you run and press butting and automatically you kill with one button knife.

A story involving Nazi's winning with mecha-dogs, granny cougars with a glaswegian smile and blond master race woman in high heel latex get-ups sounds like barrels of fun. Unfortunately New Order does a remarkable job of turning something inherently silly into whip-out-the-prozac Schindler's List.

The gameplay video says 46 minutes of game-play, which actually starts becoming an FPS at about the 26 minute mark and even then, a good portion is the character hobbling around with awkward kewl-kewl scripted kills.

A disgusting title.

i agree. for a game claim to be old school. theres very very little gameplay and more and more cutscenes.

then i see steam reviews of new order and they are 9/10s. and are excited for new game. what happen to PC gamers?? to rate this crap so high?

I actually thought the story of the New Order was decent, sure it was all over the place but it was interesting. The premise was cool for what it was worth. They should have made the whole story really dark though. That's all I actually enjoyed. Too many moments of "Blazko, we gotta go underwater and invade the fortress blah blah blah go fetch me a wrench to fix this thing blah blah."

The game itself though? Literally CoD with no multiplayer. It was a little disappointing since I played Doom before this game and was expecting something similar. What you get instead is a plain as day shooting gallery.

Yeah there should be a separate video or something on the story parts because all I really wanted to see was gameplay.

And the gameplay delivered !!

It basically looks like it takes the fun as hell shooting from the last games, make some improvements and the graphics look a whole generation better than what we got in the last two.

Havent played the new order as I tend to avoid multiplat (console) shooters. That gameplay video didn't sell me at all.

99 percent of games are multiplats. so you also avoid Doom, Prey and Metro??

I refunded Prey it was shit, never bought Doom as I expected it to be shit, Metro was inspired by STALKER more of a PC game than console game. Next?

Doom is masterpiece. you missed a lot. its better than Doom 3 and alos 1 and 2 because they are outdated

Prey is not best thing ever but closest thing to System shock 2 today.

This should be pretty good. What was that crap one where nazis took over america? The one on Xbox 360? It was an FPS. Days of something.

Anyway I just watched Dunkirk so I am pretty puffed up and ready to defend all good peoples from the tyranny of the nazi menace. Bring it on.

Game is looking fantastic, and if Ghost isn't interested in it and dipshits are calling it a movie/walking simulator then I know it's going to be awesome.

The first 30 or so minutes are scripted shit and then rest is some dude who probably never played an FPS being shit at an FPS. Also he seems to have jacked the head-bob value up to 233%.

Looks pretty good. I'll probably get it on sale though as I did with the New Order.

I'm sure I'll play it eventually, whether I pay full price at launch or wait for the price to drop, I think I'll like it when I do, I'm not going to over-judge it yet. They did good with recent Doom remake so I have high hopes they've stepped up their game since the days of New Order and Old Blood.

Looks amazing! Loved New Order, Old Blood and DOOM, so i'm sure Wolfenstein 2 will not disappoint.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with a bit of cinematic license to establish the world and story of a narrative driven game. It depends how it is used of course, but this is ID and I know once the game kicks in there wont be much time to stop and catch the view.

this is not Id software. this is machine games and if this was id software. it wont be cinematic movie COD type walking simulator scenes.

if were id software game it would have been RTCW/Doom like fast paced shooter with no ADS.

RTCW was not made by ID

DOOM 3 was made by ID and was a very slow paced shooter

and Doom 3 was so much better than TNO. it was slow paced but it was still game and not a cinematic movie.

better atmosphere, better level design, no more long cinematic and forced stealth walking simulator crap.

Thanks for posting the video. The one that Ghost4ever had show too much for me and i to stop myself from seeing more. I'm really impress what I saw from the gameplay, I'm gonna pick this up day one!

I've tried to like it my friend, I truly have, but it's cinimatic "we don't like you playing" like TNO, but TNO is X1000 "you're not getting to play", and when you do it's terrible cut-the-wire mini games, terrible stealth sections where enemies are set up like bowling pins and fun Indiana Jones story turned into "war is hell boo hoo" and when you do finally get abit of shooting it's a bunch of lame COD sequences strung together with fake tension.

Big pile of shit, really big.
