Just wondered what you guys think. It is a fantastic game and I just wondered whether you think it will develop a core following... much like COD

It's just the System Wars cycle:
1. See graphics before gameplay. Hype begins.
2. Game is released and judged.
3. Game is talked about.
4. Game is forgotten. Go back to step 1.
FIXED :DIt's just the System Wars cycle:
1. See graphics before gameplay. Hype begins.
2. Game is released and judged and possibly flopped.
3. Game is talked about and possibly/most likely hated on.
4. Game is forgotten and used in exclusive wars. Go back to step 1 with another game.Legendaryscmt
hmmm i dunno... kz2 seems to have quite a hardcore following already (www.killzone.com) I think its the type of game that turns into something like CS / CS:Source - you know, a relatively small group of experts that just play and play and play and play... even though the rest of the gaming world has moved onIt's just the System Wars cycle:

Once Modern Warfare 2 is released, no one will care about Killzone 2.
Or halo ohh wait, halo was never cared about to begin with What?!?!?!?!?!?hmmm i dunno... kz2 seems to have quite a hardcore following already (www.killzone.com) I think its the type of game that turns into something like CS / CS:Source - you know, a relatively small group of experts that just play and play and play and play... even though the rest of the gaming world has moved on Yeah cause we all know that CS has a small user base.[QUOTE="Legendaryscmt"]

Completely agree. It's a good diversion from other great FPS, but it definitely won't last. It's never have a following like CoD, Halo or Gears.Once Modern Warfare 2 is released, no one will care about Killzone 2.

[QUOTE="TheEliteTeam20"]Or halo ohh wait, halo was never cared about to begin with People are still playing Halo 2 online. lol!! You may not care, but there are still millions of people playing the HALO franchise.Once Modern Warfare 2 is released, no one will care about Killzone 2.

I don't get the idea that a system can only hold one FPS multiplayer game at a time.
The 360 has people playing Gears, CoD4 and Halo 3.
The PS3 has people playing Warhawk, RS2 and Killzone 2.
The overall casual public that always want to play the new thing will always move on but non of these games has had any lack of support.
Im pretty much done with K2,
The game was great while it lasted,
It was way too dark for me, tired of seeing nothing but black and red,
and no matter how good i get in the game, the crappy controls linger forever.

People are still playing Gears 1 online. Killzone 2 wiill still be played a year from now, but I don't think it'll be anywhere as popular as the other shorters in that timeframe. Now's a good time to play though. I just got my copy in, so I'll be online this weekend.
Killzone 2 is an awesome game I will always play it. The only problem is that COD4 has a much bigger fanbase and thats why it will get many FPS fans.
Killzone 2 has improved the Killzone franchise and I am sure Killzone 3 will be even more well known.
[QUOTE="EmperorSupreme"][QUOTE="pyromaniac223"] No, it definitely isn't. I'm not sure why everyone is claiming that KZ2 is so OMGREALISTIC!pyromaniac223I like the way KZ2 feels. It feels more realistic and less "floaty" than your average shooter. You don't just glide around. You feel like the weapons and your player really have a sense of weight to them and I don't know how to describe it accurately. That's probably what most people are talking about. I can see the sense of weight, but I don't think that it would make it the most realistic FPS ever, or give it "extreme realism"
You're right. KZ2 whilst great, and the sense of weight is good. Things like regenerating health etc takes away from the realism

I agree with most of your statement, but the CS community is not that small :P
CS is the most popular multiplayer FPS in the world. Only some MMO's are played more.
Maybe for 3-4 more years, then KZ3 will be released and everybody will move on. Or until MW2, KZ2 isn't going to be remembered like HL2 or OoT are.
It's the extreme realism of Killzone 2 that draws people in, it just destroys CoD4 (which was as close to a combat simulator as you can get). It's probably the most realistic FPS ever.QuirkyUsernameI lol'd
sure. MW2 will probably steal some people away and eventually games do see a decline in the# of players but2 years from now I'm sure there will still be a decentnumber of people online on KZ2
