Wii Gets A Price Cut; Now $129

Are you not sold on the Wii U yet? Did you miss out on a pre-order opportunity? Nintendo has you covered, as it's slashing the Wii's price down to a record low $129.99, and includingWii Sports Resorton top ofWii Sports(on a single disc).

You'll also net the Wii Remote Plus (which has Motion Plus built in) and a nunchuk to go along with your black configuration Wii. This package will replace theNew Super Mario Bros. Wiibundle, which is kind of a bummer.

The package will be available on October 28th in the U.S. If you haven't picked up a Wii yet and have no plans to get a Wii U (which has backwards compatibility), do it. There are atonof uniqueexclusivesyou've missed out on, and now is the time to act!

I guess at that price, it's a justifiable purchase It did have a few gems that absolutely should not be missed, so if you missed out for any reason at all, now would be the chance to get a Wii and catch up on those games.

It's got the exact same specs as the Gamecube and they expect me to pay 129 bucks for a system they stopped supporting last year? They are probably making 100 bucks off each console sold.

Why would you even buy a new one? They are reliable, you can safely get a used unit - it's not like you're gonna overload it with games ;)

Tennis is not included in Resort, it's awesome, I still play occasionally.

Baseball was sort of neat too.

But yeah bowling and golf have superior counterparts due to wm+ and boxing is a mess.

The Madden 12 vs 13 analogy doesn't apply here though.

there isnt, but if i go to mcdonalds and complain about a double cheeseburger being marked down to $3 instead of $5 just because i dont like there cheese.

if SW hasnt got it by now nintendo is in a different league. they make the most money and garnish the most profit. i doubt they care about how SW feel about their products at the moment.

Sure Nintendo could price the Wii at what its worth these days, but whats the point? They still want to make money off of it, so I say that they should make as much money as possible off the people who STILL havent bought one but will. There has been really no point at all to wait this long to get the Wii.

Not a bad price considering you get a Wii classic controller plus.

It's not a good deal if you aren't interested in Sports Resort. It'd be better with NSMW imo.

It might as well be 50 bucks cause everybody's Grandma has one.

Just to put things in perspective, that's what the PS2 was priced at around when the PS3 launched, and actually, higher, taking inflation into account. PS2 did not hit the magical 99 dollar price point until about 3 years after the launch of the PS3.

Also, Wii SKU always includes a game or two, where as the standard PS2 SKU usually would not.

Otherwise, I do not believe a major video game system has hit at the super magical price of 49 dollars since the SNES and PSOne days.
