Why was Playstation Allstars such a commercial failure?

If Nintendo can make a brawler with their first and some third party characters, and be successful, why didn't SONY have the same success? They have a huge selection of unique first party characters, and the third party characters that they managed to acquire are really cool. Dante, Raiden, Issac, really cool ones.

fans have been clamoring for a game like this to be made for years and when Sony finally makes it they ignore it.  But why it failed this bad? Probably marketing because what sell games these days is not quality but marketing and hype. That's why Kinect has sold so much while the Eyetoy was basically another flop.

iono, It's actually a very fun game. I'm ashamed of my fellow cows that didn't pick it up.

Nearly half the number of playable characters SSB had, Sony Frist party charactors have no where near the recognition that Nintendo's do and to be frank it doesn't play anywhere near as well as SSB either.

It was an okay game. Their decision not to include a health meter was stupid. If they were going to rip off SSB, they should've gone all the way.

I think its because the foundation of the gameplay is weak. Having supers as the only way to get any points is odd. The actual movesets and combos are cool, but the focus on supers unravels all of that.
