Curious really, I've seen reasons for the PC, and reasons for/against the console. Aside from the "Can't game on a PC unless you've paid some serious $$$", I haven't really seen any reasons not to game on a PC. So, consolites, the spotlight is yours. Why dont you game on a pc?

Because I have consoles to play. I don't play games as much anymore, so a gaming PC would be pointless for me.

Because consolites believe spending money on a good rig (which aren't expensive and surpass a 6 years old hardware) isn't worth their time. Plus they prefer playing in a couch and with a controller.

My PS3 was $200 brand new. I seriously doubt that I could get a halfway decent PC for that price. For me, it is all about cost.

My PC was £440, bought it in September and I can max any game and get 30fps+, which i'm happy with tbh. I swear consoles were around £300 - £400 when they came out?

I do game on the PC and i do for consoles. I don't always like needing a new PC for a great latest title to run on a new PC. My PC can't even play Crysis even though Can You Run It says i don't have the correct graphics card but the shader model and other stuff and that is correct. Even though Crysis can run the menu's.

So mostly i game on consoles...

My friends play on consoles and if I want to play with them (which is more important than mods, or graphics to me) I get a console. I like console exclusives more and nothing about PC gaming besides smaller indie titles does anything for me. I do buy said indie titles though since a calculator could run them.

its honestly not as hard and expensive to get a gaming PC is people think it is.

All you need is one GOOD gaming rig and it'll last you a 3-4 years. Some games may run choppy the later on but its nothing a driver update can't fix.

The main reason is because im not educated in PCs, I think all i would need to do for my PC is get a graphics card, but i literally wouldnt even know where it goes, i dont know what to do if a tech problem rises up, Consoles are just easier.

I would love to see what some of these great looking games look like without jaggies though, thats going to be my #1 concern for next gen consoles, get rid of stupid jaggies.

I play on consoles more because I enjoy console exclusives more. I can't play Tales of Vesperia, Persona 4, White Knight Chronicles, Sonic Unleashed, Catherine, Wild Arms 3, Tales of the Abyss, Dragon Quest VIII, Tales of Legendia or Skies of Arcadia on my PC.

A gaming PC is more expensive than a console. PC's graphics are better but that's about it. They're bigger than a console & take up more space, you have to fiddle around with compatibility issues, my friends have PS3, the experience isn't as good or as comfortable as on a console, 21inch monitor v 32" TV etc.

My PC was £440, bought it in September and I can max any game and get 30fps+, which i'm happy with tbh. I swear consoles were around £300 - £400 when they came out?

Priorities. Console gen starts--$300 to $500 later--I'm set for around 5 years. Don't have to think about a thing. I'd say that is my number one reason.

I do, idc about graphics and never will. It's about the competition, and pc gamers are the best, not to say most pc gamers are good, 99.5% are crap. Just that .5% is easy to find and you can play with easily. 360 is just filled with noobs, same for ps3 and there are no good people.

You could just buy a pre-built, but that would be more costly than simple upgrades or building your own PC.

But if you did just go for a new graphics cards, you'd probably have to get a new PSU as well depending on the power requirements.

I'm thinking about getting into PC gaming, but I'm waiting to see how the next gen nvidia cards hold up against the 7970.

I play both, but I prefer consoles because:

1.)It is where my friends are.

2.) The lack of local multiplayer on PC.

3.)The fact that for the vast majority of games, I prefer a controller to kb/m, and in all cases prefer playing on a TV from the couch. With how my house it set up, it isn't practical to move my PC near my TV.

4.)The exclusives on the consoles are more appealing to me.

5.)Graphics are pretty far down on the totem pole in what matters in a game, and that is what differentiates multiplats. I usually prefer multiplats on consoles because...

6.)Increased stability. Seriously, I just downloaded Republic Commando from Steam when it was on sale a couple of days ago, and it just didn't work for 36 hours. I could see other people on the Steam forums were having that problem, but nobody knew a fix. Finally, it randomly started working for me after a few reboots. On consoles, I put in a disc and play a game that was optimized specifically for that hardware, no time spent on forums looking for which .ini files to modify or any crap.

I could probably do a similar list of things I like about PC, but yeah, on balance I'm a consolite.

He has a point though. All the big league online gaming is done on the PC. You'll never see Uncharted or Gears of War at MLG for a good reason, it's too easy. I think Halo is the only game to really break into the e-sports scene. Not to mention good luck trying to find an online community for any console game older than a couple of years, except for maybe the big shooters. With a lot of older PC games, they still have dedicated fanbases. I mean just look at the people who played a game like Diablo 2 for 9 years.

I don't game on PC as much as I used to because I got tired of having to upgrade my video card and / or memory every few years to play the newest games. That and I got tired of having to search out fixes for older games every time I upgrade my OS. With a console I buy it, and it's good for a whole generation.

I think there's a good thing for everybody in the PC. Just the backlog of games is huge, there's always something to find you'll enjoy. No need for 60 dollars games or 500 dollars PC. I still think that best RPG I've played since this generation started is Space Rangers 2, and anybody can play that.

Ease of purchase, ease of use, cost, and compatibility with friends are the 4 most important factors in general.

The first 2 are my personal reasons, having abandoned PC gaming a decade or more ago.

I'm looking into buying a laptop capable of playing atleast some of teh older games on my steam library and other things.... but the one im on right now isn't capable and is dying as it is.

You're an idiot.

Gaming on a PC does not make you a nerd, like you're implying. I'm 35, married, 2 kids, very busy job as a project manager and yet I chose to game on a PC. I only game a few hours a week which makes it even more worthwhile.
