Why did you purchase your system?

What made you guys purhcase your systems? For me,

PS3 - bought it last year primaily in anticipation of MGS4, FF13,GT5 and KZ2 (was wowed by the E3 video), a normal transition from PS2 i'd say, also because of bluray.

PSP - amazing portable media capabilities, the games look great too

NDS - pokemon

PC - i upgraded my 4yrs old computer for C&C3 last year .. and for vista too

Why did you buy your consoles /upgrade your PC?

360: Had the sequels to nearly all my favourite PS2 games. Plus Rareware, new ips, PC/360 only games and a reasonable price.

Wii: I missed the Gamecube, so I got a Wii for backwards compatability and the Virtual Console mainly. Wii games are just bonuses! :D

Xbox 360: Because it currently holds alot of games that I like to play

PS3: Blu-ray playback

NDS: Pokemon

PSP: Multimedia functionality along with games

PC: I first started gaming on a PC, its only natural for me to keep one around

Wii: Smash Bros.

PS3:Free online

PSP:Gift

PC:Internet

Wii:Gift

360: It has the best selection of games.

Wii: First party titles like Brawl.

DS: Just for the hell of it. Ended up being great anyways.

PC- er....i needed a PC this powerful for my XNA based 4th year project....yea thats it. i never play games on this thing :P. [/sarcasam just in case theres any doubt]

PS3- the 60GB model was being phased out of europe and there were some nice deals going. 60GB with 2 games for 500 euro....not bad.

360-same reason as the PS3 really. good deal.

wii- i had to try it. the idea was a bit out there and the thinking behind it was fresh and new which was great. some very interesting games on it also which i hadnt tried before.

PSP- they were going cheap second hand at my local so i thought id try it out.

DS- same reasons as wii really. it was a little out there and a bit crazy.

Wii: first party Nintendo games

360: Tons of great games, but the main reason i bought it was for halo.

Wii:

• Wanted alternative to the Wii

360: Games galore, rpg king, and internet king

PS3: MGS4, great system (haven't played too much since MGS4)

PC: Expensive, but I need it for school

PS3: To play games and blu ray

X360: To play games and experience the ultimate online experience on consoles.

DS: Zelda, Metroid, Kingdom Hearts, FFs,

PSP: FFVII: Crisis Core, Metal Gear Solid & Ac!d, Kingdom Hearts

360: Halo 3, Fable 2, Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey, Gears,

Wii-my girl and I wanted it

PS3: Had the exclusives I wanted like MGS4, FFXIII (was exclusive when I bought it), Uncharted, Little big planet, and a ton of good mutliplats, don't break as often as the 360, blu-ray player and I play my music on it.

Wii: The exclusives, fun with friends.

360: I've been playing on playstations for a long time and wanted to "jump in" and try something new (I ended up being very impressed lol)

DS: It just seemed like a cool system and i've been addicted to it every since i've bought it.

Dreamcast - MVC2, Power Stone series, Sonic Adventure series, SF: 3rd Strike, SF: Alpha 3 HOTD2, Crazy Taxi series, NFL 2K's, NBA 2K's, tons of other classic Sega games and excellent arcade ports, online, web browser, use to listen to my CD's.

All of my systems I bought because I had an interest in getting them all along except the 360 I only bought it because I had extra money and the PS3/Wii weren't out yet. I wasn't going to touch it because the X-Box was a failure for my gaming taste except for the two games I bought it for.

Xbox 360(purchase, 2007): at the time the price for the console was much easier to consider against the PS3. Skate was also the reason why I decided to go "next-gen" without a firm decision. But since the game is multiplatform, I could have owned a PS3 if the price of the console was similar to the present SKU. At the sametime I enjoyed Xbox Live on the original Xbox, and the 360's Live features looked tasty to me.

Wii(2008): I had no reason at all. In fact, I was in Wal-Mart getting wood screws for my bed around 12am. When I went over to the electronic section people were standing in line for the Wii. Randomly, I jumped into line being on of the last customers to get one. I never really had a nack for Nintendo accept for the Final Fantasy games on their early consoles.

Nintendo DS(2006): It just looked fun!

PSP(2006): In reality the features and the future release of Crisis Core was the biggest motivation for me to purchase the handheld.

PC(forever): I love playing MMORPGs, and I'm a graphic designer so..

pc- good for just about any thing school, games, net, what you need it can do

wii- not a pc wanna be

Wii: i'm a nintendo boy through and through...i need mah mario and metroid

DS: same as Wii

360: unfortunatly mario and metroid wasen't enough either...so now Halo, Gears, Ninja gaiden and soulcalibur stand beside mah mario and metroid and such

Most of the time when I buy a system it's because it has either games ir a features(s) that I like

Xbox 360 - my friend at Infinity Ward sent me a free copy of COD 2, so I decided it was time to take the high-def plunge.

Wii - It was totally different and looked like it was a lot of fun. It did not disappoint. I am very pleased with the system.

PS3:

• It has the games and exclusives that I want.
• Its a good DVD upscaler and Blu Ray player with updates
• Free online

I didn't have to buy a 360 last year because my roommate had one. Now I don't have a roommate with a 360 anymore so I'll probably buy one when the price drops are all through, but heres the reason why I'm getting one.

360:

• I'll probably give Gears another chance with its sequel. I didn;t like the first one, but Epic seems to be trying to fix the problems I didn't like so thats means I'll give it a second chance
• Star Ocean: The Last Hope, I don't feel like waiting to see if this is ported or not so i'll buy it when its out.

My pc is worth as much as a cheap car, I build my pc so I can play the best game the game Industry has to offer! I will be upgrading agin soon because next years games i am expecting will be insane. This computer I will be giving to some one in my family soon!

It's worth abput $1500 my next computer I am spending around $2 000

Long time ago- N64 because i wanted to play games

Ps1-friends had it

Nintendo Gamecube-bought it for Super Smash Melee, was satisfied but regretted because there were no games, worst system ever

PS2-gave up GC, got like 150 games within a couple days for like 20 dollars all of em dont ask how, and enjoyed for 2 yrs

NOW-Ps3-was loyal to Sony and knew they were going to deliever again and intially they didnt but a few months wait and they had done it again, MGS4, Uncharted, COD4, Ratchet etc

360-never liked it, just got it for free, was very dissapointed no bluetooth support, 256MB hardrive, pay for Live when PSN has better content, pay for themes and pretty much everything with MS points, Gears was reptitive however Halo 3 is freakin awesome.

Xbox 360 - has the games and genres I care about. Nice 3rd Party support.

DS - 2D games, 1st party and 3rd party.

360-The games

360: I liked the original Xbox, and the price was better for me.

The thing that really sealed the deal though, was Bioware announcing they were making Mass Effect for the 360.

I bought the 360 for the games,xboxlive and i like the 360 controller more than the others.I bought my wii for nintendo first party titles.I bought my ps3 for mgs4 and some exclusives that arent exclusives anymore.

PS3:- Blu Ray, decent 1st/3rd party exclusives, PSN, LBP,

Wii:- VC, 1st party games, the controller wanted to try it and the hope of a StarWars game which uses the remote as a light sabre!

PC:- MMORPGS, online shooters like BF2 and TF2, RTS's, Internet

X-Box360:- My brothers, decent exclusive titles Dead Rising(Being released on the Wii though), Kameo, Crackdown, Mass Effect(Now on PC though), decent online

DS:- the stylus!

PSP:- cause I just wanted one... GTA Stories

I will stick to this gen or this would take too long.

360: Bought for Gears of War (It was supposed to be a launch title) and because I enjoyed my Xbox and Halo series.

Wii: I was in GameStop when they got a shipment, and it looked fun.

PS3: LittleBigPlanet and Blu-Ray

PSP: Love the concept and its capabilities (Why I bought it the first time) and for Tactical RPGs and WipEout/Lumines games (Why I bought it the 2nd time)

NDS: Bought it for Brain Age and the idea of the system.

I bought my 360 because of:

1. the games that were due out (many of which are sequels to games I loved on the Xbox)
2. Xbox Live
3. the price

PC - always had PC's and i use it for work too

PSP - its such an amazing handheld

PS3 - always like the PS brand and PS3 is a great console

360 - got it as a gift (4 weeks ago), and i wish i got one earlier, but was too much of a PS fan before :)

I got a PS3 because it has the best exclusives, and free online play.

I wanna get a PSP also because its great library of games.

I buy all of them because I have a gaming blog. Nuff said.

PC- I've always enjoyed dabbling in PC gaming.

Xbox 360- great library of games, most of my friends have one.

Wii- love Nintendo's 1st party.

360: Halo3

PC: School & CS:S

PS3: Because my 360 ~@$%'d up and the games are awesome, controller is brilliant

360: Online and some awesome games too, controller is sick

DSL: I don't know i think i was brainwashed

Gaming PC: Because even if consoles have nothing new there are still millions of PC games that'll be cheaper and look better and maybe even play better on a gaming rig.

Playstation 3: GTA IV, oblivion, LBP, Resistance, killzone etc.

PC: Starcraft 2, Crysis, The orange box, heroes of might and magic etc.

PSP: Videos, MGS portable ops, GTAs etc.
