Why did Bungie abandon their PC fans?

I remember playing Oni all day on my gaming PC, the game is fun as hell, it had a unique feel to it great AI and weapons

same with like myth and marathon on mac, marathon 2 on PC

they have not said a word about destiny coming to PC

most of there fans id wager are pc gamers what the heck is going on like we don't wanna buy ps4 we don't wanna do that bring ur games back to where ur fans at man

literally plz put destiny on PC where it belongs and stop with the PS4 nobody wants one of those to play your games on

Bungie are pretty much slaves to console manufacturers now. Give it a year or two and most of the original Bungie devs will probably have left to form a new dev team and will be asking/begging PC gamers to fund their new idea on Kickstarter.

Because their exclusivity deal with Microsoft and Halo. I guess it's natural for them to continue with games only on the consoles. PC gamers are not missing much.

Bungie went from Apple only to Apple/PC then Apple/PC + PS2 before going XBox only.

The quality was not good enough for PC. I imagine Halo never sold well on PC and wasn't well received on PC.

Well, I believe Bungie's fame took off after making Halo...which was a flagship title for the Xbox. So, contrary to what TC is implying, Bungie and Halo have always been more synonymous with consoles than PC

It appears more developers realized that in order to make games: games need sold.

Sadly: the vast majority of pc gamers do not do this. Thus: the entire industry ignores or treats them with contempt.

If this was true PC wouldn't get more multiplats than PS4/XBONE, and they wouldn't be better 90% of the time.

If this was true PC wouldn't currently have the most developers and games (high scoring).

If it wasn't true: pc would be the lead platform - with games specifically designed with pc in mind.

Unless it's a video game typically devoid of piracy (MMO/Free2play) pc gaming is now console gaming: with slightly better graphics.

They didn't. They were struggling financially and when Microsoft approached them to buy Halo and put it exclusively on the Xbox to sell their system they saw it as a way to save their company. Despite their heritage on the PC their games never sold all that well putting them in financial trouble.

Microsoft had Halo and Halo 2 ported to the PC by other studios but the port of Halo 1 was not that great and Halo 2's Vista requirement killed sales of the series on the PC. Wasn't really Bungie's fault for either.

After over a decade of making games for the Xbox, I doubt most of their fans are on PC. Its probably well spread now. I can only guess as I don't work for Bungie but a company goes where the revenue or potential revenue is. I guess they like the revenue they see on consoles more.
