This is my first Disgaea game i've played. I'm a fan of fire emblem and advance wars, jean d'arc etc so the gameplay is hitting home for me. The story is kind of fun and the mix of absurdity with cliches is refreshing.
Am I the only one?

No, but I did download the demo and enjoyed it from the same standpoint you seem to be. I'll buy it eventually to get my grid-based SRPG fix.
ordered it, arriving tomorrow.
Liked the demo, perfect for the Switch...
Not the kinda game I would play on a massive tv with a console.
I played it on PS4. I might get it on Switch later when the price drops, unless physical copies are limited and that never happens. Not really sure of how the print run for this is.
I play it on PS4.
Waiting for my Splatoon 2 Switch to get it so i can leave my vita and Disgaea 3 and 4.
Think after 5 it'd be worth a play through on the older one?
If you want more of the series after you're done, yes. I'd recommend either the first game or 4.
I have it on the ps4, but I'll pick it up on the Switch because these games are perfect for portability.

Maybe not the 1st game, since it has a bullshit level.
Also, pro tip for D5. Level up Metallia.
I bought it and will be starting it soon. Playing a lot of Street Fighter 2 today for switch. Very happy with the Switch. It has a lot of games I want to play (I have 13 games for it so far)
I enjoyed the demo but the hugeness of this game puts me off, I heard you can spend hundreds of hours maxing out a single character, what's in the demo is complex enough for me and to hear there's far far more to it than that, that is very overwhelming.
It's all optional though. It's not for me either but I wanted you to know that you really don't have to max out things and dive into every system in place. In that sense it's like an RPG sandbox. It let's you mess with everything you could think of in insane ways but you don't have to.

I might wait it out and pick it up later on, I'm afraid I'd want to do everything I can and that would burn me out on the game, even if it is optional. It is a game I will buy though, I'd just have to force myself to miss out on the optional content. I left my Switch at work today, I feel so empty without it.
