Digital, physical, collector's, etc. Which retail outlet do you prefer to buy your games? For PC games, I tend to go CDkeys for new releases or BestBuy. Occasionally I'll get stuff off Steam or GreenManGaming. For console games, I usually go to BestBuy or Amazon. I get 20% off with my memberships plus 5% back with credit card purchases. I'm always looking for a good deal. Overall, I would say I go to BestBuy the most. GamerClub's is the best deal you can get right in gaming in my opinion. What about you, SW?

EB Games for physical, mostly. Used to be Walmart some years ago, but now I live too far from them lol. So EB Games, and usually I go digital anyway.

I always buy physical if possible. I used to buy my games at Game stop but now buy from Amazon with Prime. I generally get every new release for $10 less.

Amazon and Gamestop.

Occasionally Walmart, but I usually find a better selection (and a better deal) across the street.

Other than that, If I don't want to wait a week to 3 weeks normally, I go to the local gaming store in israel which is called BUG.

Quality of threads went downhill in this section. I will go check if off topic section still holds its integrity.

PC=Steam

Games= Physical when possible. I really like my small local Gamestop, and I want to do my part to help keep retail open for as long as possible.

These days, I'm 100% digital, mostly GOG and Steam. I also bought one game each from UPlay (Steep), Origin (Dragon Age: Inquisition), Windows Store (Forza Horizon 3) and Blizzard (StarCraft Anthology) so far - all the other stuff in my respective libraries were activated from physical copies.

Nintendo eshop

PSN shop

Windows store / Xbox store

Why?

The I love and I like categories are for stores that give me a good service and/or a great price

I have never received either from Eshop, which is the worst of the bunch.

But PSN/Windows Store/Xbox store aren't much better either.

So Eshop for me is the absolute worst, with the others just being a bit better, but still awful stores.

Bought BF: Hardline for 5 euro for the singleplayer alone not even a year after launch.

For most AAA releases, I still buy physical from EB Games here in Aus.

For indies, and games that I want to keep & re-play, I'll buy digital.

I buy most my games on Xbox One and I buy them digitally. I still buy physical on Switch, DS/3DS, and PS4, since I mainly get exclusives on them and my library is smaller and more manageable that way.

I stopped buying from GameStop / EB Games because they piss me off not carrying new inventory of older games, instead only keeping inventory on used, and they're always forcing used down my throat, or charging full price for gutted copies. I try to get them anywhere I else I can, Best Buy, Walmart, Fred Meyer, Amazon, wherever else as long as it's not GameStop / EB Games, I'll only go there as last resort.

Either but has to be in really good discount for me otherwise I just rent from GameFly.

I used to have BB's Gamer's Club and it was pretty good but I found better value with GameFly since I'm not really a collector and have PS Plus/PS Plus games for anything in between.

I use to buy everything at GameStop since it is the only store within an hour of me that sells them. Over the past year and half though I have almost exclusively started shopping on Amazon

For physical, generally I buy from Best Buy with GCU, though I'll be doing so less now that it's going to expire and Amazon has the same benefit.

Usually I buy digital, but normally only when items are on sale. Steam, GMG, Amazon, Humble Bundle, and Instant Gaming are my usual go-tos.

Amazon.

Otherwise Steam, GOG, maybe a humble bundle, but more likely CDkeys. In fact in the case of EA, Bethesda, Ubisoft, Square, I only buy their games on CDkeys if I am getting a PC version, with the exception of Nier: Automata. Because had to support my boys at Platinum.

Amazon, Best Buy, Game Stop (rarely), and Digital.

Any game I find above average and that I know before buying that I'll like, has to be physical for me.

So Nier Automata, Nioh, Gravity Rush 2, etc etc are on sale right now digital?

I refuse to buy them even if they are cheaper, those are collection games.

Digital I buy ps store, gog, steam, bundlestars, and humblebundle.

I'm not above buying a game on Origin, though I'm meh about uplay.

Physical games at Gamestop

Physical import games at Play-asia, but will be changing that since I found a better service and cheaper price elsewhere

Digital games (I rarely buy unless they are digital exclusive) at PSN, XBox Live, Nintendo E-shop, Steam

Whoever has the best price.

Whenever digital sales are uber cheap, I buy digital (would never pay near full price for a digital game).

I buy a huge majority of games either during those big digital flash sales, or at retail during black friday (which is usually the 1st time newer releases have a good price).

Walmart has cheaper new copies than Gamestop has used on older titles, so I check there first. PSN sales have been great lately, so I buy alot from them aswell.

Edit: Best buy is to far from my house, so I rarely go there.

I usually buy them from the following stores in order from what store I'm most likely to buy it from:

1) Amazon

2) Digital

3) Best Buy

4) Walmart

5) Game Stop
