People love new things, and a console that is first to start the next generation is a new thing worthy for hype. And if you think that it'll not start the next generation, than you are factually wrong because a new generation is about timing, power is only a relative thing.

The Wii has killed any interest in future Nintendo hardware that I might have had. Even if the hardware specs are impressive I'm just not into Nintendo's games anymore. Sadly, this may be the first Nintendo home console system since the NES that I haven't purchased.

I think it's exciting to see what it's going to be like, but I'm not keen on getting it at this point. Partially because there's still too much to play on the systems I've already got, plus we don't know about any launch games yet.

In about a years time Nintendo will be releasing their 6th home Videogame console. They will be the first to launch into the 8th generation of consoles. So everytime a new console is coming their is going to be hype.

Last out of the gate will be The Playstation 4. (Their hasn't been so much as a peep out of Sony) aside from NGP

Without Hype we cannot have "system wars". So E3 is very soon so Hype is happening about a new videogame console from Nintendo.
