What's next for Naughty Dog after Last of Us 2?

They will make uncharted 5 where we play as nathan drakes daughter.

I would guess a new IP , then TLOU Part III after.

New IP. Oh and they shouldn't really focus on multiplayer cause it sucks.

Hard to really say. I've played nearly all their games and they are all enjoyable so I'm okay with whatever they decide to do. I would prefer a new IP and in a different genre because it's really cool and interesting to play their old games and still know the feeling of playing a naughty dog game.

High probability it'll be a new IP.

We are getting a new Uncharted.....but not a game, were getting a real Uncharted movie coming soon to theaters if you catch my drift.

All jest aside, I personally don't wanna see another Uncharted game with Drake's daughter as the lead cause reboot Tomb Raider already done that for us and using Drake's daughter will make it a Tomb Raider rip-off as it is. I want Naughty Dogs to make something new.

Never gonna happened and they don't care about that series anymore. In a interview, ND confirmed that they were going in a more realistic direction and back in 2012, they mentioned being unsure about which direction to take the series in as well. They tried rebooting it but it wasn't what they thought made the series what it is. Their reboot was grittier, serious and probably a lot more cinematic than what the series is known. The creators Jason Rubin and Andy Gavin left ND and I feel like the heart of those games left with them, so I'm glad Jak is done.

I'd really like to see them make a Sci-Fi epic.

I also should have mention this but I did remembering reading that Naughty Dogs wanted to try and make Half-Life 3. I'd say, Valve should allowed ND to try and hey, it's not like Valve gives a damn about Half-Life series right? Let Naughty Dogs make HL3.

lost legacy wasn't that good. that open world bit at the start was painful at times. the rest was fine but a lot of been there, done that. felt like a step too far for uc but i'm almost sure tlou 2 will be a return to form. and they'll crank up the emotion and presentation dials to 11 which will distract from any shortcomings.

as for what next we'll have to see how tlou2 and the inevitable dlc turns out but after lost legacy i'm all done with uncharted. i've climbed my last cliff side with intricate hand holds and ledges. i've found my last hidden big metal dumpster thing on wheels that conveniently helps me climb onto previously assumed out of reach places. time for something new

I really don't want them milking Uncharted/TLOU over and over, even if I loved those games: it's time for something new.

Return to that masterpiece of an IP they created in WotW and make part 2 lol.

Hopefully a new IP or a reboot of Uncharted. I love Uncharted but I'm good if I never play another one again in the same style of the 6 games already made. Also hope they just give up on TLOU, really don't care about it

New IP, newish genre. Still third person but not shooter centric (TLOU is arguably that type of game already in its SP, but certainly not its MP).

They been experimenting open world with Uncharted Lost Legacy so I think their next ip is open world adventure game

RTS is making a big return, I don't know how it would work on PS4, but Naughty Dog clearly has a lot of talent. And making the same thing over and over again (ala call of duty) would mean that talent would go to waste.

So yeah, a radical change would be nice.

@R4gn4r0k: Sony AAA studios generally tends to go there for good or otherwise. Smaller studios like Media Molecule, pixelopus or Japan studios is the ones braving to tackle weird genres. Since I bring up Sony Japan Studios, Bloodborne 2 plis Sony Japan Studios and From.

PS2 and PS3: Variety of games coming from Sony devs

PS4: Sony devs make one genre, and one genre only

@R4gn4r0k: Agreed, personally even on ps3 Sony dev been walking to story driven game as focus. Personally dont mind story driven game. They have fantastic writing and loved the focus. I rather have TLOU2 than a mario game.

Would be nice to see a platformer or some other more "gamey" videogame. Not a fan of these scripted half-movies. Make a new Crash or something new.

Wonder if we'll see any Dune game stuff now that they're making Dune movies.

I'm pretty sure naughty dog might have a new ip for PS5. I'm looking forward to last of us 2 as a last push for the PS4.

You may have an opinion about a game, but please let's no pass off your views as a "general opinion" because the Uncharted series is considered a really great series amongst most gamers.

As much as I love Sci-Fi, I would like if ND can make a "Steampunk" game setting on their own merits. Steampunk needs to get more recognize.
