What is your end all be all favorite gen 8 game so far?

I'm going with Forza Horizon 2, just an all around stellar game with so much to offer.

I'd like to give honorable mentions to Sunset Overdrive, The Master Chief Collection, Infamous Second Son, Mario Kart 8 & Pikmin 3. All fantastic games that I enjoy but they can't take the top spot.

Hmm, off the top of my head I'm kind of split between 3D World, Pillars and Shovel Knight... oh and Ground Zeroes. Yes a glorified demo brought me more joy than most games in the past couple of years.

Funny thing is I still haven't played Bayo 2 or Bloodborne, both of which will likely be among my favorite games of the gen.

Bayonetta 2 all day. That game is mechanically perfect.

I have Bloodborne ready to be played but I havent played it yet so I cant comment about it but so far Watch Dogs was the game I had the most fun with.

I think people underrate it a lot. Sure it wasnt what it was meant to be but still a damn fine game

The gen just started it's not that serious.

Bloodborne is the best game to come out this gen (my opinion)

I expect more and better to come. There are several good games but Bloodborne is the only one that deserves my praise as a great game but it's not an "end all" game.

Bayonetta 2, Captain Toad, Child of Light and MK8 are my top games this generation.

Captain Toad is the winner though.

Bayonetta 2. One of the couple of times that GS got it right when handing out a AAAA.

Runner up is Bloodborne.

Bloodborne has my top spot. FH2 really surprised me as I'm not a big racer player but it is exactly as TC said, stellar. The most games I had fun with in 2014 were FH2, Titanfall and Sunset Overdrive.

I'd have to go with

2. Mortal Kombat 10
3. Killing Floor 2

So far, for me, it's Bayonetta 2.

I haven't played Bayonetta 2 because I heard the controls were terribad, so I'm gonna say, Destiny.

But really, Dragon Age Inquisition has been my favorite experience of gen 8. That game felt really good from the start. I've no interest picking apart Biowares story telling like some super fan... I think they do it well enough to make you buy into their world and turn you loose and I genuinely enjoyed that.

Beyond that...

Resogun, OlliOlli 2, Shovel Knight... Tons of good games.

Mario karts also pretty damn good especially when you factor in the dlc cups

I wanted to count P4G but since it's a port of an older gen game I didn't know if it would count.

@Bigboi500: Technically, but it has like 20 hours of new content. That's like five current gen games in terms of length. I'd say it counts :p

Then again, I haven't played Bayonetta 2 yet - bought it at launch and just never got around to it. Oh, and Bloodborne is also fun. As is Crypt of the Necrodancer.

For each system because I have all: Forza Horizon2 and that will get my overall selection for gen 8 as well. Followed by Bayonetta2 and then bloodborne.

Ah this is tough. I've been playing Smash Wii U religiously since day one but Persona 4 Golden connected with me more... and then we have Fire Emblem Awakening and ALBW. I can't decide! *runs*

This gen has been extremely disappointing in terms of must-have games but I expect that to change soon (Witcher 3 woot!)

Between those I might give it to Shovel Knight. game was incredibly fun and replayable and unlike Bayo 2 and DKTF, it had optional challenges that didn't make me want to punt a baby kitten across a football field in rage. Never again with infinite climax or trying to get golds in time trials. Also loved the incredibly simple but sweet story Shovel Knight had.

ALBW, while terrific, I feel took a bit too much inspiration from ALttP, with how a majority of bosses were brought back from ALttP, and with how Lorule was pretty similar to the Dark World, despite both places being different dimensions/realms I think? Hyrule Being pretty similar between ALttP and ALBW made sense atleast.

Dota 2

Don't care if it counts or not, game has me by the balls. I can never stop playing.

Divinty: Original Sin followed by Inquisition, Isolation, Shadow of Mordor and Bayonetta 2.

I can't pick any. There hasn't been a single game this gen that I would consider a favorite. Very disappointing generation so far.

I am still waiting for that truly next gen game that makes me go wow.

Until then. TLOU wins by default.

Favorite overall I suppose would be Infamous Second Son. Lots of fun to play. There have been quite a few good games though.

Bloodborne. I'd also like to mention GTAV (last gen version is unplayable lolz).
