I'm willing to go as low as 6 out of 10, if I really like the gameplay videos. Anything below that and I start to question if the game just functions properly. What about you, SW?

No score.
If I'm really interested in a game I'll play it despite critical reception, both by gaming "journalists" or gamers alike. If I cared about scores I wouldnt ever had played gems like Killer is Dead or like the sort, wich I ended up enjoying more then several 9/10's out there.
LMAO this would be pathetic if I let another person's numerical opinion persuade/dissuade me about playing a game.
@SolidGame_basic: 7 and up. In rare cases 6 like destiny. It got points off for technically reasons. Big difference from getting a 6 cuase of a lack of enough fun
I played and enjoyed The Order 1885 just fine. Good game. Good gunplay , cool weapons , cool altenate reality and setting , solid controls , good characters / voice acting , beautiful graphics , etc. I'm glad I played it , for sure. I played it twice.
Sometimes , you just have to look past the media on certain games , and never let fanboy bashing get to you.
I don’t really have any hard and fast rule for review scores, it’s generally on a per game basis. However if something gets like a 4 out of 10 or less it’s highly unlikely that there will be enough redeeming features that will compel me to want to play that game.
Scores mean **** all? Seriously? How hard is this to understand?
AAA games are $60. You guys all have high-paying jobs where $60 is nothing to you? Also, you’ve never been burned by paying full price for a game only to find out it sucks and you wasted your money and time?
Yeah, I’ll stick to YouTube footage and professional reviews. This thread smells like there’s some bullshit going around.
I don't read reviews or pay attention to the scores of critics.
I'm okay with audience scores because those usually are closer to my opinions on anything.
Score doesnt matter to me. If i like the game or want to try it out, mass media/social media isnt going to stop me by what they score it.
@SolidGame_basic: If you play games based on a "score" somebody else gave a game, you are doing it wrong.
@Nike_Air: You said it, dude. I played the Order and it isn't bad at all. Neither was Quantum Break or Halo Wars 2. All were entertaining. I don't expect every film to be Brannagh's Hamlet or game to be *insert favorite game one believes is untouchable*

True, but a good reviewer will provide detailed reasons why it got that score. Which will help you decide if you want to invest your time and money into it.
If the overall consensus is below a 70 meta, I'm overlooking it or will come back to it. Games cost too much to invest in everything, so I heed the red flags. But if there's just something I want to play, I'll play it.
Put it this way, I still enjoy anime/manga licensed games with mediocre (and sometimes bad) reception. Just recently, I bought One Piece: Burning Blood for my XBOX ONE.
There are many 10/10's I've never played. I don't care about what some score some journalist out of college or a journalist wannabe thinks about any particular video game. I'm capable of researching and thinking for myself.
0, I do look at the opinions (reviews9 of others, but they alone do not decide whether i get a game or not. Especially since I tend to have a different taste from the average reviewer
Gamespot gave IL-2 Cliffs of Dover a 4/10. Yet, it's my favorite WW2 flight sim. It's improved since the original review with patches and the Team Fusion mod.
Scores don't mean dick in the bigger scheme of things.
I don't care about scores.
I'll read through some reviews and watch some gameplay videos to get a better idea of how the game is. From there, I've been playing video games long enough to know what types of games that I generally enjoy and what types of games that I generally don't enjoy, so once I have a general idea of how the game is, I'll be able to decide if the game is worth it for me regardless of what scores it receives.
For example, 1-2-Switch did not receive good reviews from the professional game critics, but I just knew based on reading about how the game played and watching videos of it that my friends and I would have a lot of fun and laughs playing it and I was right. Another recent example is Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy which received some poor reviews that complained about what they referred to as "outdated" gameplay design. I know that I love that old school gameplay design that they complained about so I knew that I would enjoy it regardless of the poor score that they gave it. On the other end of the scale, I also know that no matter how highly the game critics rate all of these movie games that are so popular these days, I will not enjoy them because I get annoyed by too much cinematics interrupting my gameplay, so if I see a game with lots of cinematics receiving a lot of 10/10 scores, I'm still passing on it because I know that it is not for me.
COWards Only play high scores in order to boost their self esteem and lower their emotionally butthurt insecurities.
Scores are only of use to wreck factions in SW. Otherwise they're meaningless. Some of my favorite games scored terribly. I don't listen to critics when it comes to gaming. I play what I want.
I don't have any kind of cutoff. I play what I want. That being said, I'll be pretty cautious of games averaging 6's or below and will be sure to research them closely before plopping down my money - it's easy for folks to say "scores are meaningless" but reviewers tend to be pretty generous with numbers and so reviews start to get worrisome when the reviewers actually venture a critique. But I tend to only buy games I'm very confident are for me anyway - I don't have enough gaming time to waste on library padding
I just pick up whatever looks fun to me.
If I see some lesser known game on Steam and I'm on the fence about it, I'll browse the user reviews for a general idea of pros and cons. Otherwise, just go with my gut, or stuff that like minded gamers I know recommend to me.
Simply looking at a number doesn't do it for me lol. One of the worst games I played this gen got 10s across the board. Worst game I played this year got a bunch of 8s and 9s. On the flip side, one of the best games I played this gen is in the 70s.
Can't say I put too much weight on that stuff.

Now hypothetically, if a game I was interested in was getting 5/10 or less across the board, that'd raise a red flag. This industry is very top heavy with its use of the scale, so chances are a game would have to be pretty rough to unanimously receive scores that low. Wouldn't be an instant deal breaker, but it would have me researching to see what's so bad about it.
I read reviwes but don't pay attantion to the score. Reviews are meant to give you general idea what's in the game. There are many games that got negetive reviews, but I still bought them because the issues in the game looked things I could handle, or even enjoy.
The only times I look at the score are when the game doesn't interset me that much, so I look up on the score, and later look at reviwes if it catch my mind.

Actually score mean nothing to me. Some of my all time flavored games didn’t receive high score in here but I still love it.
none
I usually test the games out first through demo downloads, borrowing, or renting, before actually buying the game. If it's fun and has excellent replay value, I usually buy and keep it.
Scores have never had any meaning, it's just some random guys opinion on something and mostly they are heavily shills or paid of to push agenda's.
What if sony pays 60% of your total income on adds?, yea guess what. Giving sony bad scores isn't going to happen.
If you think that isn't the case you are just fooling yourself.
