Excite Truck owns. 1 is brake/reverse.

Nintendo's only genre this year is mini games. Lots and lots of mini games... and ammongst all those mini games, you get a below average game every once in a while.. Thats NEW GEN for you sheep. Dahaka-UK

Action Adventure - Zelda TP. I Realize it came out in November for Wii, but the game has like 100 hours of gameplay the first time through (if you know what you're doin) and infinite replayability. Theres so much to do.

Fighter - SSBB wins by a huge margin. Online + Smash Bros = unstoppable. Not to mention it's one of the most complex/skill orientated fighters out there.

Sports - Every EA game is best on Wii, nuff said.

Action - Manhunt 2 - It will be the best on the Wii. GTA is coming out, but MH will be refreshing since GTA is coming a bit rehashy lately.

Shooter - Metroid Prime 3 - Wii has the best controls for FPS, MP has the best environments for games....need I say more.

Party game - Mario Party 8 is an ABSOLUTE BLAST. Don't listen to the review, this game OWNS.

Platformer - Super Mario Galaxy....it's mario, and he doesn't have a water gun.

RPG - PM2 and FFCC. Yeah, they arent the best on the market this year, but their close enough.

Am I missing anything else ? Except genres that the Wii practically INVENTED (and thereofre easily has the best of.)

It's a great time to own a Wii.

Sorry but it's hard enough(and not that fun) playing a mini game with a Wii-mote, it's would be insanely impossible to play an RTS with motion sensing..

Don't worry, he doesn't realize most of the better Xbox 360 games are sequels to GOTY titles. His Wii list has none, except for Zelda series.
