What gaming announcement would you like to hear (realistic or not)?

I'm waiting for the next announcements from Atlus regarding the Persona franchise. I've heard about a Persona 3 Remake, Persona 4 Golden port to Switch/PS4, and also of course, Persona 6. Also, while I've been lucky to have played Persona 5 on Playstation systems, I would be curious to see it on another system 😮

As for the rumors about Konami being acquired by Sony.. that would be interesting. They certainly have IPs that would fit the mold and at least Sony would do something productive with them instead of using them for pachinko machines. But it's probably unrealistic that they would buy Konami.

Then there's bonafide sequels like Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 and Final Fantasy 16. We're bound to hear something about those this year. BOUND TO I say.

No more exclusives. Everything is multiplatform, everything goes to all platforms. Or at least the major platforms (Nintendo, MS, and Sony). That includes storefronts, too; no more Tencent-Epic bribing developers for exclusivity.

Blizzard implodes and the old crew get's together, manages to acquire the rights, and makes World of Starcraft, an MMO-FPS.

Valve decides to start developing a holodeck. If anyone can do it, they can.

I'd like to see a persona6 but the thing with atlas is that they only release the game when the install base for their platform of choice has reached a certain size. This is usually around the 80 million console sold mark.

MS releasing a rip off dual sense controller.

New metroid prime release date.

A chrono trigger remake or a sequel has a low chance of happening. SE have something against that game. I'd like to hear something about golden sun for switch. A remake or remaster would be fine with me, I'd pay full price too.

Bloodbore remake ala Demons Souls and PT demo...err I mean Silent Hills being created. It's criminal that Konami killed what would have been potentially the scariest game ever made.

A new Socom. I’ll even take a remastered (not remake) compilation of different maps from the series. Make it online, let’s go! If GTA Definitive Edition can please me graphically, then I’m sure Socom can with a fresh coat of paint.

@voljin1987: Oh man, I would love to see Beyond Good and Evil 2 come out. I'm not even the biggest fan of the first, but the development hell the sequel has been trapped in for decades is frustrating to watch. Knowing what people must have put themselves through to no avail just seems heartbreaking.

I also really hope Star Citizen happens, even if I personally would probably just play Squadron 42.

Number one, especially now that we know SONY is working on more than 10 live service games is a new SOCOM game, but it has to be like 1,2, or Confrontation. A live service SOCOM released alongside a fully fledged campaign with co-op would be amazing. I'll make a list though.

1. A new SOCOM game (live service) launched along with a full campaign.

Everything from that point forward can probably be put in any order.

2. A new Timesplitters (make it exactly like 3 but new characters, weapons, levels, and full online multiplayer).
3. A new Vigilante 8
4. A new Smugglers Run
5. A new Breath of Fire (like the first 3)
6. Bring back college sports
7. Rogue Company 2
8. A new Killer Instinct with old school combo mechanics
9. A new Driver game (San Francisco was awesome)
10. A new Spec Ops game
11. A new Medal of Honor with emphasis on multiplayer
12. Several new open world survival games with AAA budgets or at least a push for more quality and bug management
13. Full voice chat integration that is much easier to connect on Nintendo Switch or upcoming hardware
14. Trophy and achievement support on legacy games
15. New console oriented TCG (perhaps one of SONY's live service games?)
16. A new Rainbow Six Siege that both sides are allowed inside and outside without spotting penalties
17. Honestly I'd like to see more PC tactical shooters make there way to console
18. Modern Warfare 2 (2022) has Cyber Attack
19. The new free to play battle royale games don't suck
20. X Defiant and Roller Champions wind up being great games
21. Ni No Kuni 3 that goes back to the first games play style
22. A new Final Fantasy that takes its gameplay back to at least X
23. To find out the new Elder Scrolls game is more hardcore and feels more like Morrowind or Oblivion rather than Skyrim and that you are an everyman again instead of being practically a god.
24. New information about Starfield with perhaps some actual gameplay
25. More family focused mini game oriented couch multiplayer that are made with quality
26. To find out that PlayStations new service gives you the option to play some of those legacy games online multiplayer (going back to SOCOM 2 or Confrontation or MAG would be awesome)
27. PlayStation adds early access like Xbox and PC
28. PlayStation releases a "pro" controller with back paddles
29. A built in system that new online games add where players can connect to a dedicated chat across crossplay (probably more of a dream on this one... but open lobby mics always sound like shit)
30. An option to play crossplay but be connected to similar input devices
31. A new console by probably either SONY or MS (or an update) where Steam functionality is added to consoles (I don't think this is as far fetched as is sounds, especially for MS)
32. For gaming companies and devs to stop using the virus as an excuse
33. For games to release that are actually finished... too often these days are games like Cyberpunk and Battlefield becoming the new normal. However, I am happy to see the player backlash.
34. An emphasis on all console devs to reduce input lag
35. Better anti cheat systems that actually work.. (unlike trash like Ricochet)

I could probably keep going all day, but I'll stop there since I'm about to jump on a game.. lol.

These are totally unrealistic (mostly), and I'm sure no one will agree, but here we go.

I want multiplatform games to go away. If there's a Jurassic Park game on Xbox, then there are two completely different ones on PlayStation and Nintendo...if they want. Xbox could also have three different ones just for themselves. PC games are designed solely for their platform, and that's where they stay.

No more exclusive rights from NFL, NBA, MLB, etc. I don't even play sports games, but I've always disliked one game having all the control.

All subscription services are done away with, but every game released (and even some that aren't; looking at you P.T.) would have a demo.

All games with a relevant multiplayer would have a LAN mode, with one box per screen and 4 player split screen options.

The original idea was for PlayStation, but it could work for any. Hold monthly tournaments with old games (Resistance, Unreal Tournament, etc). Just send out surveys asking what people want to play, give them a months notice, put the game on deep discount, have two to three weeks of practice followed by a weekend tournament, with unique avatars for participation and PSN cards and peripherals for grand prizes.

If the previous can't happen, at least have a service that lets you pay a dollar per month to run a server for a specific game. If the demand drops below what it costs to run and maintain the server, you aren't charged and you can't play. Hopefully they could use that to easily gage it interest in old games that need a modern version.

A legitimate clan system (per each respective system) that tracks and ranks your stats through all relevant games on the platform. Individual and clan stats would both be represented. Your clan page (hangout) is designed how you want it, with different options unlocked as you progress. Everything earned, nothing bought.

Preferably this would happen to Halo CE multiplayer, but any game (which I can't think of any) of that caliber should have a seasons LAN option (online as well😒). You would create a locally saved profile, that is used over a duration of time that you set, where it tracks all manner of stats. Wins, losses, accuracy, medals, etc, and at the end of the season it shows the overall stats, top players and plays, awarded with some silly accolades, and a highlight reel of the best moments of your season (that it's been recording in the background). Which can also be saved and watched anytime you want, or uploaded to your clan page from earlier.

Overuse of magenta color palette and excessive particle effects are banned. You just can't use them anymore. A special Council of Aesthetics will be created to handle this.

Those are just some of my dreams that will never be.

A new Primal Rage could be cool too.

Oh, and console online is free again.

Some people think he's a has-been because of Devils Third, but think that's a bit unfair tbh. Just a crazy series of fucked up circumstances, switching between multiple publishers, engines, and target platforms.
