I am definitely getting Shenmue collection and Yakuza Kiwami 2 for my good ol' PS4. I've been wanting to get into these franchises, so I'm glad they released the earlier games in HD. What about you, SW? What games are you down for next month?

We Happy Few looks absolutely banging, right up my street.

Yakuza Kiwami 2 will be great also, won't get right away but definitely on my list.

And as always, I'll buy PES ;)

Just only Monster Hunter: World PC version is the only thing I'm interested playing the most for an August month. That said, waiting on the PC version was totally worth it :)

Yeah WHF looks great. Kind of surprised MS didn't make it exclusive as they now own the developers.

Deal was made with Gearbox to publish on PS4/Win/Xbox before MS bought them, and even before that they were going to self publish on those platforms anyway.

MS prolly bought them because We Happy Few had some great E3 showings on MS' stage.

Definitely Monster Hunter World PC, though I probably won't buy it at launch. Wait and see first.

That said, Nyx Prime is getting unvaulted in a few hours, so I'll probably be a bit busy with Warframe for a while.

I had thought We Happy Few would have its PS4 version cancelled now that MS own the studio (and the IP, I imagine).

As for the question, I’m mostly focusing on backlog. I may consider Mega Man X Collections but no new games are of sufficient interest for me to pay the retail premium.

Monster Hunter: World.

Also interested in Dead Cells, but not sure if I'll get it. Kinda regret getting Okami HD a while ago for Steam (before the Switch version was announced). It would've been cool to have as a Switch game.

We Happy Few, had the Game Preview so if they are still honoring final game to those and Early Access buyers then it's not something I have to weigh purchasing. But Gearbox is now publishing it, so who knows.

Have my eye on Strange Brigade as well, by Rebellion, who also did Zombie Army Trilogy, looks like a TPS Left 4 Dead with mummies.

Dead Cells is my most anticipated game, heard great things about it. Looks like a proper Castlevania style game with roguelike elements. Getting also We happy few and TWD, and likely a Strange Brigade as well since I loved Zombie Army Trilogy

It has been completely rebuilt and is no longer the crafting/survival game that it used to be.

I suggest watching some recently released trailers.

so they took out the features and replace it with what?

not sure i understand why they would remove features from a game.

The buzz for WHF after E3 was due to the trailer having a bioshock/Brave New World vibe to it. It looked great!

But when the early access launched it was full of survival busy work and meter babysitting bullshit which was complete opposite to the game people was expecting and there was a huge backlash to it. I guess they've removed that stuff because of the reaction to it.

fair enough..missing out on a ton of fun. many of those early access titles I have played have been the most fun I have ever had in a game, but no worries.

it just caught my eye because I thought We Happy Few was actually old news

No problem, I'm glad Early Access exists for folks that enjoy them! And the feedback/testing leads to a better end product, it's win-win :)

I just know it was a 'thing' (as in popular) a few years ago and you can still buy it now...so...

Basically what Boycie said. The game was very low budget at first so they toned down the story/scripted parts and turned up the busy work.

People weren't a fan... and neither were the devs. So they upped the budget, spent longer on the game and made it feel more unique (not sure where you are getting "they took stuff out of the game" from)

During development a lot of gameplay stuff is tweaked and changed, this happens to any game...

"The survival mechanics have probably been the most discussed and iterated on systems in the game - and that’s entirely due to community feedback. PAX, Kickstarter, Early Access and Game Preview were all essential to help make this game what it is, because it gave us ongoing feedback during the growth of the game. What started as a survival simulator punctuated with story moments in the form of cutscenes has evolved into a hybrid actiony-adventure story and survival game, with narrative woven intricately throughout every part of the game. Creating a flexible system that appeals both to players who enjoyed the survival mechanics with those who didn’t, while keeping these thematically consistent, was one of the toughest challenges of the project, and we hope you enjoy it"

From the devs.

'increasing' a budget to then remove mechanics from a game is stupid.

anyway..I see why people here suddenly started becoming interested in this game, Microsoft bought the developers. That explains everything

the original didn't really pull me in, to many other titles I am more interested in. I doubt highly that removing crafting and upping the story is going to help that for me

so its all now a Childhoods End novel I take it

@tryit: people have been looking forward to it for a few years now. They're probably talking about it again because it's finally finished and released this month.

Novel wise it's got a similar vibe to Brave New World type of thing judging by the trailers.

'people' have been looking forward to it since the first day it came out in early access

I am explaining why people in this forum suddenly are excited for it as a new release. those people got excited about it once MS started having articles written about it.

I mean come on bro..we are talking about this in system wars for christ sake

its obvious why people here are suddenly amazed and excited by this game. 1. marketing (in the form of having articles written about it) 2. brand loyalty

you might want to think that maybe...just maybe....I am right

@tryit: why would I do that when you yourself have never expected that someone else might be right.

to be 'right' one has to give more of a reason other than 'not everyone agrees with that multi-page explanation as to why you see it that way'

and then just drop the mike and walk away.

but what are you talking about exactly? how one can not infer what a game is like by watching a video unless they infer what a game is like by watching a video?

People are excited for a finished game, couldn't give a **** who's publishing it, it's a multiplat that's coming to every system for Christ sake.
