What are you playing this weekend, SW?

I’m looking forward to some time off the next few days! Want to play Crisis Core and hopefully finish it before Fire Emblem: Engage, the first big game of 2023. I’ll also probably play some other stuff like Need for Speed Unbound, Call of Duty, and maybe even Chain Echoes 😮Oh, and there’s the new Last of Us show! Gotta watch that on Sunday. Picked up trek to Tomi on sale looking forward to it.

finished callisto protocol. will be trading it in this weekend. one and done game, my advice to others is make it a none and done game i.e. avoid.

earlier in the week started return to monkey island and it's so nice to play. a real nostalgic blast from the past, absolutely adored the original game in the early 90s and this is a great trip down memory lane, you can really feel the soul of the first two monkey island games come through in playing this. i couldnt get into the telltale games, but this is a treat.

also just downloaded the ps5 witcher 3. going to have one final go at trying to get into it, it's just never really clicked previously. one of those games you really want to love but it just doesnt tickle your boxes

Halo Infinite multiplayer games.

Started Mega Man 11 and continuing Cuphead, both on Switch.

I'll be playing midnight suns this weekend. Just started and its pretty good.

Will mix it up with COD and Fifa as I've lost my tough in Fifa and the nephew wants a game :)

I spent a week or so on Battlefield 2042 (it's on game pass). I got up to level 60 or something, with a nice spec'd out solder from each class. Now, I have deleted it and gone back to Halo Infinite for my multiplayer fix - so that is what I will be playing this weekend.

BF 2042, for all it's patches, has a lot of issues that patches cannot fix. One match on Team Slayer in Halo Infinite, and I was reminded what great multiplayer gameplay was all about.

Dad of War on Steam Deck and a little Battle Block Theatre on Steam Deck.

I’ve mainly been playing Mass Effect 2 from the Legendary Edition on PS5 and will continue that this weekend. Such a fantastic game. Played some Vampire Survivors on Xbox One and really liked that so probably a bit more of that as well.

Midnight suns which is awesome and high on life which is pretty fun!

I've been playing Aliens: Fire Team Elite. It's such an excellent game, especially if you're a fan of that universe like I am. I just got the DLC yesterday too and I don't usually ever buy DLC, it's that fun.

Other games I'll be playing is Elden Ring. My older brother isn't accustomed to the Soulsborne games so he needs my help. I may pick back up Spyro Reignited and finish up getting the platinum to both Ripto's Rage and Year of the Dragon. I also need to go back to RE2Make and Kingdom Hearts 1 to get those platinums. One goal at a time, but I really need to sit down and dedicate time to one until they're completed.

Horizon Zero Dawn! Hope to finish it up.

I just got done replaying Gears 5 featuring Hivebusters DLC, love the DLC and felt like a truer Gears game than the current main game. Anyway, I'm playing Hades this weekend as Hades 2 announcement got me excited about it. Next up, it's Dragon Age: Inquisition as I haven't replay it in years, like when it came out, glad I'm able to replay it after all these years and more Skyrim stuff & Darksiders: Genesis.

I just got a new monitor that supports 144Hz so going to see what all the hooplah is around all this High framerate lark (i didnt get the new screen for the Hz though. that was just a side thing). So Doom Eternal is back on the cards (i also have a new mouse and keyboard to break in).

Also Monster Hunter Rise. I have hit a stumbling block with a mandatory rampage quest. Need to rethink my strategy and ally placement a bit i think.

I'm replaying Elden Ring.

Hopefully I can finish up Plague Tale Requiem, probably more Vermintide 2, maybe break ground on Deep Rock Galactic as I've given up waiting for friends to want to co-op with me so I'll just go it alone with randos. And definitely want to do a Dead Space run before the remake comes out. Oh, and get through the latest Human Fall Flat level.

But as soon as Persona 3 & 4 come to Game Pass I am going to probably be too busy for much else until Atomic Heart, I'll only be able to finish one of those before it releases so I gotta make a choice which one I want to tackle before that.

I always rotate between games I haven't finished so I don't just play 2 or 3 games all weekend.

I'll continue Call of Duty DMZ, play more Inscryption Kaycee's mod, try to finish Elden Ring (I've been stuck on 3 bosses for a long while), Need for Speed Unbound, and finish Titan Quest finally.

Finished Shadow Warrior, been meaning to get through it's 2 expansions.

As for me, I'm not playing much... just a bit of some Tetris game on Switch. I want a bit of a break before Fire Emblem next week.

Think this is gonna be a variety weekend; jumping from one game to the next after an hour or two tops with each.

Already jumped from Evil Genius 2 to Kena to Grounded to Northgard. Next on my list includes Total War: Troy, Mass Effect: Andromeda, Okami HD, Chorus and Praey for the Gods, and it's not done. What can I say? Feeling like a bit of the old dabbling.

By dabbling do you mean turn the game on, look at the main menu, and then exit?

The Last of Us Part 1. I've previously played the game and have the platinum on PS4. I just wanted to replay both before I started the tv series.

Skyrim.

Fired up Stray on my PS5 just to get my mileage out of my PS Plus Premium subscription and I absolutely love it.

My plan with Witcher 3 was to focus more on the side quests this time, since I didn't enjoy the story that much years ago. But I feel buried. There is too much to do, too many odd jobs. The game has been telling me to find a boat to Skellige for hours and hours now and I'm still swamped in Novigrad, not even counting all the Witcher contracts I left open, which go beyond the city. No sense of urgency, no penalty for being obsessive.

Still playing Hades, and going for the 100%/ all the traphies is difficult as hell in this.

Elden Ring and Apex Legends

That's why I stopped caring for open world games. I'd rather have a smaller scaled open world with a good amount of things to do, rather than a huge world with a ton of things to do. You get burned out or never finish the game. If there's one thing I can say I liked about the Witcher 3 is that its side-quests are some of the most fun I've had in any open world game.

Pretty impressed with how fun the combat is in Crisis Core. I think you may even like it, @ConanTheStoner

Working through the last half of Final Fantasy 7 remake, I was stuck on the Hell House boss for a long time, finally got past it this morning.
