What are you expecting from Microsoft this E3?

Microsoft has the momentum right now, they've been taking ground with recent strong sales, pro consumer approach, and substantial studio acquisitions.

Will they come with heavy hitters and capitalize on their "E3 monopoly"? Or will they play it safe and prepare for direct competition next year with Sony? Do you expect any mention of Xbox Scarlet this E3?

I'm somewhat hoping they come out swinging to salvage my hype for E3 :P. I don't think we will see much from the new studios beyond concept trailers.

Honestly, they just need to show one game and it will be their best E3 ever.

Hoping they go this route with teasers, but going first will give Sony an advantage since they'll know how to retaliate (while giving Microsoft an advantage in early establishment of their console). It's going to be a very interesting start to next gen!

Actually i am not expecting a whole lot. I don't think they want to tip their hand to Sony too much. And Vice Versa for Sony.

so maybe some teasers about the new consoles without much info, Gears 5, Ori, and maybe a couple more exclusive teasers. Halo Infinite release date. Lot's of Game Pass, and other services.

I would look into it if there is a 4th, it's been a long time since the last one.

Obsidian is releasing outer worlds though, you expect them to show off more than that?

If you look at the top played games on steam Age of Empires II has been sitting on that list for 5 consecutive years now. It's a game from 1999. In fact the success of Age 2 on Steam has sparked Microsoft to reinvest in the franchise.

I expect MS to totally win E3 (as usual) with a hardware announcement and some news about new IPs and Halo 6 footage!

I expect the same, I'm hearing a lot about Microsoft going first but I don't see how they can maintain their power advantage and go first at the same time.

Battletoads was already announced so MS doesn't have anything they could announce that would really excite me much.

I'll give it a try and if I like it then I'll look into age of empires 4. It looks like Warcraft 3 which I enjoyed.

It's cool you stuck with it all this time though, I've done the same for Dota but that's about it.

That's a pretty dumb statement, because how do you know what new games they will announce to know you're not interested in what new games they announce?

I am honestly expecting them to big up some crap games.

Some teasers for their new hardware, both some games and the system itself. More stuff on Halo Infinite and Gears of War 5. Would really love to see another Killer Instinct and I imagine that they are indeed working on one.

Im keeping my hopes to a minimum, which in this case is none at all. I don't want to be disappointed again after being hopeful the last 2-3 E3's.

halo infinite a new ninja theory project and maybe a new console announcement of some kind.

Some games of which I have no interest: Gears (tactics comes to console, might be interested in that) and Halo.

GAAS stuff for Sea of Thieves, Forza Horizon 4, and State of Decay 2.

Surprise holiday game, probably Battle Toads.

Announcing that a bunch of 3rd party stuff will launch on Game Pass (Yes Yes Yes).

Sizzle reel that end with a long preview of The Outer Worlds.

Play Grounds other game, shown on Scarlett hardware, but playable on everything Xbox One and up.

I don’t think Microsoft can overtake Japan. Only if they release a Cadillac of a console, decked out and takes the rest of the world by storm will they overtake sony. It would have to be night and day in comparison to what sony releases.

Maybe microsoft will release an xbox with a slot loading graphics card like an eGPU.

I'm expecting a bunch of announcements from most of their studios, for the preparation of next gen and more about GamePass. I think they will set up for next gen. They need the next gen announcement to go smoothly. Sony has a big hold of current gamers with digital downloads and MS has some serious work cut out for them.

We haven't seen new IP's on Xbox in 5 years outside Indies. They only announce Halo Gears and Forza. Woopty doo?

2019 will be a great year for RTS, with the spectacular looking Iron Harvest launching as well.

I don’t think there is anything at this point they could ever do to win E3. Even with Sony not there, somehow MS will still lose lol.

I know lems pretend MS won a couple E3’s, but it never actually happened.

Microsoft will double down on minor improvements no one cares about like Game Pass: “The home of 200+ games you already played last gen and the indie games you refuse to pay for now”.

We'll get a look at what Ninja Theory is working on, another studio bought, maybe talk of console hardware.

Not to mention, new first party studios will be making new IPs. If he wants to act like an idiot and pretend thet all 7 new studios will be working on HaloGearsForza then lets sell him this bridge LOL

Honestly, I'm not expecting much this year's E3 in general. MS will do what they always do best, show games, hype their own product, talk about Xbox is amazing and give gamers a reason why they should buy your console.

E3 is also a place for many 3rd party studios to show off what they are working on. People focus on the big 3 too much and forget about the other studios out there.

They should show:

Gears 5 gameplay and release date for 2019

Halo Infinite gameplay with release date for 2020

New Forza game

New Fable game

Ori 2

Age of Empires

Other indies they’re working on- Below developer? Cuphead 2 maybe?

Talk about the new studios and maybe show off some ideas/concepts for new IPs

The other E3 presentations tend to be lackluster. Bethesda's been having some nice conferences of late, but I don't see Ubisoft or EA wowing anybody. What could happen is a potential Fromsoft reveal at Microsoft's conference since they've been working on multiple projects for a while now.
