Guess im going PSN only with the Vita, its now confirmed that Vita games on PSN will be cheaper than the retail version which could go to 40% less on PSN than retail ( Japan already has that, games on PSN cost them 40% less which im guessing why retail verison of the games dont chart because their being bought off PSN?) . Sony did not confirm how much cheaper they will exactly be but will be announced soon. BestBuy is suggesting could be 10% or more cheaper on PSN.

bye bye retail and hello PSN downloads, this is confirmed for USA/Canada and UK

http://www.joystiq.com/2012/01/31/ps-vita-game-downloads-cheaper-than-boxed-copies-in-us-too/

thoguhts? Vita is now almost 22 days left

Here's hoping they also include PS+ members discounts too, i have saved a lot last year thanks to Ps+ so hoepfully they'll have some Vita deals alongside the PS3 deal with Plus. im just glad their giving Far Cry 2 for free this month :D. always wanted to get that game

And what is the average size of a Vita retail download? I'm just wondering if the memory card price might balance out the PSN price reduction.

As others mentioned they range and differ from one another, but if you have a PS3 i dont think there is anything to worry about as you can awlays back up your games to your PS3 and move back and forth anytime.

I intend to go digital with or without a discount. Just seems more fitting for a portable game system, I think.

A discount would be nice, though I doubt they'll do more than the 10% shown by Best Buy - of course, I'd love to be wrong.

Slashkice

I'm too lazy to figure out the % but i have seen games on the japanese store selling for 1000 yen ($13 US) less then the retail versions

Why would you put 32gb of music on a handheld device? do you have 32gb of music on your phone or an iPad? Hell even the ipod touch a device made for music only goes upto 64gb memory, but we are talking about a machine which functions primarily as a gaming device.

Pfft, Google Music all the way. I have over 7 Gigs of music on it, and it's awesome. No need for save devices. However, I must say that with all the game downloads and add-ons, you may not want the lower tier cards. I'd say 16 GBs or higher is better.

That's good, now if only the didn't charge through the roof for the memory cards. Hopefully someone comes out with a cheaper alternative.

I wouldnt go for a smaller then 16gb memory either, its not universal but apparantly some games will allow DLC to be stored on the cartridge, aswell as the save files (I think that could be the case with games that use up less space on the cartridge with the actual game).

There is always the option to delete the game after you finish it and just DL it again later if you ever want to play it again.

If this is true it would be nice. I'm not really into handheld gaming but the features of this system are very appealing. Access to PSN , touch screen, dual analog sticks, near PS3 quality visuals. I'm honestly thinking about purchasing one. I'll wait to see what games are out at launch, then make my choice

you would still be able to have 2-3 of the bigger games on just an 8gb memory card, 6 big games on the 16gb card. Thats enough to play a bunch at once, im saying once you have finished with the game and dont plan on going back to it you can just delete it, or alternatively you can just copy it to PS3 and copy it back later if you dont want to have to download it.

a 32GB Sd card is 30 bucks for 3ds.

I'n not gonna argue about the price of the memory cards but they are much cheaper then the SD cards were when PSP came out where i lived ($100 for 1gb $200 for 2gb from EB games). You can get SD cards for cheap now, which makes it a bummer that they dont sell retail titles on the nintendo E store.

Cool, but what about the over priced memory cards? And how long is batter life on the thing? The Vita has some great tech in it and it can play PS3 games (assuming you know how   ) so mabey Skyrim on Vita! I'd buy it for sure!

I don't think it's doomed like idiots think, give it some time and it will be fine.

Sounds like a good deal to get a discount getting titles via downloadable service. The only crap I can't get passed is the memory card pricing. I do want to play Uncharted GA , Gravity Rush and what was it, Escape Plan? I'll just wait and see.

Hmmm interesting depends how much cheaper they are, need to see if buying the physical copies or PSN and get a huge memory card is cheaper. This saves me from having to switch back and forth between games...but as a nerdy gamer having a physical copy of a game..holding it and putting the Games case on your self is just so much more *Satisfying* then just having it digitally.

I heard that here in the U.S., digital games on the Vita PS Store will be 10% as opposed to Japan's 40%. Not much, but hey, both countries have different currencies with different values. Anyways, I'll will be buying my games from retail to save space on my memory card, but if the game goes a little cheaper and I'm too lazy to go out to get it, then I'll buy it online.
