Vagrant Story on PSN this Thursday + FFXIII Announcement Hints

I got this e-mail from the Square-Enix News letter:

"Way back at the dawn of time (better known as the year 2000), a certain video games company called SQUARE made a game called VAGRANT STORY, which stormed the charts, became a genre-defining classic and, amongst other things, garnered a perfect score from Famitsu magazine - so pretty much business as usual for character design god Akihiko Yoshida. But the great news is that SQUARE ENIX are bringing it to the PS3 and the PSP on the 12th November!"

Also...

"Some people are legends, other people achieve legendary status, while the rest of us have legendary video games thrust upon us - and since that game is FINAL FANTASY XIII, we couldn't be happier about it! Better still, we've got an exciting announcement coming up on 13th November, where we'll be showing off some awesome new footage from the game and... we can't say! You'll have see for yourself! If you don't remember to nail that soon-to-be-famous event to your diary, don't worry, because our trademark countdown is on the official website. Your epic adventures in Pulse await, so... do you have the courage to face your destiny?"

So at least it's not just a bunch of told footage rearranged into a "new" trailer. My bet is a Spring 2010 release date.

Everybody better buy Vagrant Story or I will personally do something you all wish I wouldn't. Amazing game, beats the ever loving **** out of any FF game I've played, that's for sure.

I never got to play Vagrant Story. I hope this gets released in the Australian PSN store.

Everybody better buy Vagrant Story or I will personally do something you all wish I wouldn't. Amazing game, beats the ever loving **** out of any FF game I've played, that's for sure.

Ohhh thats great to hear. I already own a black label copy but I do not mind downloading the game to play on my PSP.

Buy it, its amazing. I'd do some pretty nasty things to baby kittens to play through an experience like Vagrant Story again. In my top 10 easily.

It's just one big dungeon crawler. So take that for what you will. It is personally my least favorite Square game of all time. It was just really boring with no personality. However, I think it has one of the best combat systems of ALL TIME (it's like parasite eve)!

On a side note, Tomba is AMAZING!!!

Personally, I believe Vagrant Story was developed by the best team in Square before they turned Nomura-rehash. Its also one of the best RPGs to ever hit PS1 (definitely in the top 5) Its got my money.

Never gonna stop gushing over how much I love this game. Its soooooo good. Devoid of all this childish friendship garbage, a mature and engaging story is told with an absurd attention to detail and a gameplay sytem and crafting system that rewards taking the time to learn but doesn't baby sit the player. Learning the secret of Lea Monde is amazing. Only thing the game needed was more back story.

I tried to play it, but I couldn't get my hands on a copy. Everyone else bought it before me.

I still have quite a few SE games to get through but so far VS is my absolute favourite. It felt the most polished to me. I only have minor complaints, some are even nit picky. Bah, I need to go play it again.
