The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) issued a statement regarding status of E3 2020 due to recent declaration of state of emergency in the city of Los Angeles due to Corona Virus. While ESA still plan to continue the event, they will be monitoring the event and evaluating the situation.

I dont remember E3 being canceled when H1N1 happened, and that virus killed more people. It all feels like more media brainwashing, like climate change BS. LA has bigger problems being a democrat city full of poop.

They are scared the public won't be able to distinguish between Coronavirus and EA being on stage.

Gamers today don’t need E3 anymore. Let it go back to being a floor trade show for industry personnel. Streaming media makes stage presentations pointless. Everyone can just record and broadcast their trailers and investor pitches on Twitch, YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook wherever else they want to.

While I would certainly miss it if this year’s E3 gets cancelled I’d certainly understand it as people’s health should definitely come first. I love E3 and all the pomp and circumstance that with it. So many great moments that have happened were so much better because they happened in front of a live audience.

Wait...are you saying mimicking the decisions that were made during an outbreak that "killed more people" is a good move? I'm pretty sure that its decision to not cancel in 2009 is one of the main reasons it has to be on the ESA's mind this year.

Early projections of covid-19 have it spreading much farther and causing far more casualties if it's not stamped out soon.

California's GDP is larger than Australia's GDP and still no single-payer universal health care. LOL

California's population size: ~39 million with ~$3.137 trillion GDP

Australia's population size: ~26 million with ~$1.376 trillion GDP

Um, what? The best-case scenario is 15 million deaths? That sounds like someone pull that out of their ass.

With that kind of number the covid-19 is going to be here for years.

State of Emergency was such an awesome game.

Rockstar was stressed showing off GTA III because of that game. Thought it wouldn't get much attention.

In my country only 4 people confirmed dead from it.... and they were all very old, about to die regardless. One was a 99 year old woman. Compared to H1N1 which killed 300 confrmed in my country. Like i posted here way before, this is bioweapon, as in made in a lab. Indian university already confirmed it was made in a lab long ago. It has higher chance of killing Chinese asian people than us. If i got the virus (more chance i fall down the stairs) it would be a normal flu for me. I'm beast white alpha male so it dont do nothing to me lol.

With H1N1, a virus that killed confirmed 12,000+ in the US, compared to coronavirus confirmed 12 dead in US as of now..... (lol) well i dont remember back then this global hysteria of closing everything all over the world. Sports events, conventions, people locked up like wtf? Some people locked up in my country say they feel fine, some say its like a normal flu no big deal, they want to leave but they are not allowed. Some angry cuz they cant work and they lose $$. Its scary the NWO world we are headed where they can just lock your ass up even if you feel ok lol.

Normal flu kills about HALF A MILLION people every year and nobody cares. You just die if you rotten old cuz your body cant defend itself.

Who cares? The weak will die and the strong will survive.

Eat right, exercise, basic hygiene everyday and don’t have weak genetics. I know this is a lot to ask for most gamers but whatever lol

It depends on the situation, but I do get your point. E3 itself as of today's standard is becoming irrelevant due to too many leaks ahead of E3 spoils the surprise and that that hurts the general audience. If Social Media wasn't this big, E3 would still be a thing to look forward to.

Sony decision not to participate in E3 actually became bad news to them as now everyone is competing to show something in online presentation.

Honestly, I think Nintendo has the best solution to this problem.

Sony Direct, X-Box Direct, Nintendo Direct.

Digital presentations at a time like this could be the best marketing move.

I mean yea, stream it, problem solved.

It seems more like they are looking for an excuse not to do it, given how cringy and lackluster it was last year, wouldn't be surprised.

I don't want to watch some sterile stream that's been pre-recorded, I mean has any Nintendo direct, XO event or State of the play ever been entertaining?

I like watching live gaming events especially when things go wrong etc. No one gets to play games before they're out unless a demo is released before hand, I mean you people sound like you're dead inside.

I remember going to the EB games expo a few years ago and had a great time playing games and seeing devs have Q & A's and the like, but I guess i'm the only one.

Will miss the old days like E3 2010... Konami conference lol... now everything gonna be so souless, dead. Robot girl voice of State of Play.... lets take a look at Horizon for PC xD

How the world has changed. Back then H1N1 killed way over 575,000+ people and nothing was closed. Here we are 10 years later mainstream media, leftist governments, globalists... (the same people who tried to push climate change hysteria) now have a new toy in their agenda pushing arsenal. An edited flu. 4000 dead so far (nearly all old near death people) and we closing everything world wide... while 2010 only weak minded people panic... while the rest move on with life like E3 2010 lol

1. People are closing things, not because they are weak minded, but because they want to halt/slow down the spread of a disease.

2. The goal isn't necessarily to stop it entirely, that would be naive to assert that is possible, what people can however do, is provide herd immunity to those who need it the most, and buy time. Giving medical researchers more time to develop a vaccine.

3. This is not an edited virus from an already existing disease. Coronaviruses, are a large branch of diseases. And while some colds (for instance) are caused by corona viruses, this is a seperate strain that came to us from most likely, either bats or snakes. I would say more, but reading up on evolutionary biology and studying phylogenetic trees might help you understand how this works.

4. Sick people are less productive, and pretty much every medical expert agrees, that the loss of productivity is worth the slowed down spread of the disease.

They aren't being weak minded, if anything, it is the opposite. Sacrificing potential profits and revenue in order to do what is ethically right. This action may have saved lives and you call them weak-minded. SMH.

Ah, and here is an example of brainwahing. The virus came from snake BBQ and bat soup. We need to close everything to stop the spread :O!! Next year we should close everything too because normal flu kills around half a million every year :O!! Panic time. Yes sir i have the virus, even though i feel ok put me in quarantine. Bow down to the police state. Global economic colapse? That should be healthy :)

Hey guys never mind there is a biolab meters away from Wuhan food market... you know just saying? Never mind the virus was taken apart and it is already confirmed edited lmao

At the current rates half the USA will be or will have been infected in about 3 to 5 months (assuming a 6 to 10 days of doubling time and using only known cases; keep in mind known cases aren't all cases and USA testing has been remarkably slow) unless everything goes on an effective(!) lock-down. So to save the medical system/personnel from drowning in ncov patients, for everyone who does not have ncov and/or everyone who are more at risk to ncov, I think it makes sense to stop all events and gatherings and meetings for this year and to start getting used to changing our lifestyles. Do you think you or anyone you care about may want to make use of medical aid this year? Then it should be important to you too.

It's kinda simple. I am trusting you to keep a cool head about this and run the numbers yourself before you believe anything I say because I make mistakes. What I'm looking at is a threat of roughly 2.6 million (pop x 0.4 infected x 0.02 cfr) to 13 million (pop x 0.8 infected x 0.05 cfr) deaths in the USA in a couple months, OR quarantine. If we assume the flu kills 60,000 in a year in the USA, that could be 43 to 216 times as bad as the flu. Not because the virus is that much more lethal, but because it's incredibly new.

It sucks, but it's a worldwide crisis so we're going to depend on everyone to understand and co-operate and be strong in this. Everybody needs to stay tough and become excellent at hygiene and prepare by buying a tiny bit(!) of extra food and water every day you do your shopping. Buying a lot of prepping stuff will strain the system and create enormous problems down the road. Leave the masks for medical personnel. If the lock-down doesn't happen soon enough or well enough, they could run out of masks in a matter of days in a crisis that may take months. So they need them way more than you do so that they can save human lifes. Wash your hands well and often, and keep yourself hydrated.

This virus poses very little risk to individuals, especially those below the age of 60-something who live a healthy lifestyle. The odds of having no symptoms appear to be much higher than it creating a critical condition. So there is little reason for you to be afraid, but for the sake of preventing potentially many millions of deaths on top of the flooding of your medical system I think it is important to take this seriously. The warmth and sunlight of summer may slow this virus down significantly. The lock-down could be extremely effective like the one in Wuhan according to China's official numbers. The virus doesn't seem to affect children significantly and it doesn't seem to harm cats or dogs. If you go away from home for any length of time be sure your pets are cared for in case of a lock-down happening while you are away. Fighting this virus effectively may advance our medical knowledge and preparedness for the future of mankind. Always keep open the door to hope and welcome to a weird 2020.

Ah, and here is an example of brainwahing.

Ah yes, every conspiracy theory's favorite explanation for everything that goes against their paranoid delusions. Must be brainwashing.

The virus came from snake BBQ and bat soup. We need to close everything to stop the spread :O!!

The people saying we know for certain if it came from Snake BBQ or Bat Soup, are being disingenous. While it is most probable it came from either a snake or a bat, we shouldnt jump to such conclusions like the ones made here.

Next year we should close everything too because normal flu kills around half a million every year :O!! Panic time. Yes sir i have the virus, even though i feel ok put me in quarantine.

Do you have any idea of how diseases spread?

I would rather do other things than educate you, instead I suggest you read up on Epidemiology

Bow down to the police state. Global economic colapse? That should be healthy :)

I would rather not go into the politics here, but these hyperboles are ridicilous.

Edit:

Hey guys never mind there is a biolab meters away from Wuhan food market... you know just saying? Never mind the virus was taken apart and it is already confirmed edited lmao

There is no evidence to suggest that the virus is man-made. SARS-CoV-2 closely resembles the SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV. Both of which had very natural, non-made origins. Everything about this virus falls in line iwth other naturally occurring coronaviruses.
