Uncharted 4 is the 2016 Game Awards' most-nominated game

2016 is winding down, and it's time for everyone to start putting together their awards lists. The Game Awards, produced and hosted by Geoff Keighley, has just released its list of nominees, and it's a pretty contentious one. Uncharted 4 leads with nominations in eight categories, while Overwatch, Inside, and Firewatch all tie for second place with five nominations.

Naughty Gods at it again, leading the pack despite the tough competition this year. I wonder if it will win GOTY, even if it doesn't it can't be denied anymore that it's one of the best games released this gen.

GOTY fodder type games are never really the kinds of games I like.

Honestly games like Uncharted can't stand the test of time. Good presentation and visuals age, good gameplay and design last much longer.

P.S. Video game awards are actually legitimately illogical. There is no proper way to do it. Everyone voting would have to play every worthy game of the entire year fully in order to submit a proper vote. No site or show can do that. No site or show ever has.

People say what they like but ND having pretty much all of their games nominated in pretty much every award ceremony through the years shows how good they are.

No developer has such a track record when it comes to awards.

@Pikminmaniac: if that was true, then uncharted 1 (2007) and uncharted 2 (2009) wouldn't play as well as they do. They stand up next to a lot of modern games.

Not surprised at all really. Nothing else this year really comes close to the quality or fun factor of Uncharted 4, besides the re-release of Rise of the Tomb Raider which obviously doesn't count.

rightfully so since it garnered GS's most recent AAAAE 10/10 Exclusive must play game award.

I enjoyed it. But during play through number 2 I was seeing that it would be years before I picked it up again. It isn't that fun after a couple of times through, much like other campaigns, I'm finding. And the MP, while fun with a few of you guys, is an after thought. Nothing there in that regard. Doom was the more fun game this year.

The game awards show has always been a joke, its the poor man's Oscars awards show, no wonder why the actual media wont take gaming seriously, its because of crap like this. Also, QuadKnight can't live without his precious dick extender.

I only care if the people nominating the game are manly, hardcore gamers.
